Default American Racing Razor Wheels

Has anyone bought the Shelby Razor wheels? I am interested in the 20" rims and Toyo 255/35 tires. I just don't know enough about the offset specs to tell if the wheels will stick out too much. Your advice will be appreciated.

It would be nice if they had given the backspacing in metrics.I've seen a couple of 05-06" Stangs with Razors and they do look sweet.I did look up in FRPP book and they list a stock 18X8.5 Bullitt as 6.82inch backspacing.

Just remember that the 20' wheels will weigh you down just a wee bit more than what you have already. They are really nice wheels though .

J&D, these are nice looking wheels and come on the V6 supercharged Shelby GT350 known as the CS6. See link for some pictures.

http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/shelby_cs6.asp

Best if you contact you dealer or AR directly regarding offset - the AR web is recommending 24mm offset which seems quite low - the wheels will stick out an inch further. Probably ok if you keep the suspension standard - when the wheels move up they move in slightly - but if you intend to lower the car, it will be very tight. I have lowered my car 2" on the rear, the wheels stick out 0.9" further than stock and the clearance is extremely low. Having said the CS6 in the pics has clearly been lowered so you will be able to make it work as 24mm is the biggest offset they make; they will look good on that Windveil B.

Here's a handy calculator to use for comparing wheel and tire sizes and offsets.

Thanks savagess and everyone else!! The debate ended today when I placed the order for .... 18"ers

I opted for the 18 because they are the same size of the Shelby GT. The tires will be Toyo 255/45Zs. The wheels are the American Racer/Shelby Razors. Same as this Shelby:

Hi J&D, that thumbnail you posted is the Shelby CS6 with 20" wheels, not the GT with 18s.

That's correct steve, they are the 20"s but the wheels I am getting are the 18" version of the ones on the picture. The tires on the 07 Shelby GT500 are p255/45ZR-front and P285/40ZR-rear. I went with the former all around. With the help of Savagess, I was able to determine that the 20"s would stick out a little too much for my taste. (the little I have!!)

I verified that the wheels are going to have the Shelby cobra on the center and one of the spokes will have the word "Shelby" on it. Pretty cool I think. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for this info Savagess I will call the tech guy at Discount tire and ask if they can order them for me. Otherwise, can you tell me where you ordered yours? I am hoping that the slight shimmy will not be as bad on 18" wheels, just in case, I am willing to have them ready if they do.
