Default New Hood for my 06 GT

My 06 sustained some heavy rock damage earlier this year. I took it to the dealer body shop to have it repaired. When they were done you could still see the ding in the hood from one of the bigger rocks. I didn't realize that this is an aluminum hood. Anyway, they are now going to replace the hood with an 07 hood. Is the 07 hood identical to the 06 in shape and weight. I don't want a lighter hood on my car.

I'd say they are the same but not 100% sure.

Rock damage? where have you been taking that Stang man
I would think they are still aluminum, otherwise the car would be heavier and cut down on the MPG.

I was on the interstate when a dump truck hauling gravel decided to open its tailgate and dump about half it's load onto the highway going about 70 mph. No chance to avoid the carnage. Oh the humanity !!! Luckily I was able to get the truck license number and turn it into my insurance co. for subrogation.

I am surprised you only took damage to the hood under those circumstances. I would have expected damage to the windshield, roof, fenders, etc. You are indeed lucky my friend that you were not hurt or that you car was not worse off. Someone upstairs was watching out for you. Might be a good time to play the lotto.

I did indeed suffer more damage. The front bumber had to be repainted as well as both left and right fenders. The top of the roof and pillars also. Pretty much repainted the whole front end. They did an excellent job blending the paint to the original. I thought now would be a great time to have my custom paint job done but they wouldn't do it until they restored it to the factory look since this is a re-do on their part.
