I have no clue why he sold the car. That's one I definitely would have left in my will to someone special.

When Shelby sells his cars, it's to raise money for his children's hospital. It is a worthy cause, AND the buyers get to write the excess over sticker as a charitable deduction ! It would work for me IF I had that kind of money !

My guess is......at his age, and in his condition, Carrol Shelby is going to do as much as he can, while he can for his children's foundation as possible.
And Ron Pratt is a serious ford and Shelby collector. He certainly didnt buy that car for an investment. No one else is going to be willing to spend that kind of money. Not for a very long time anyway. I was glad to see the car go for that. Shows how much respect Ron Pratt has for Carrol Shelby.

427 with dual S/C on Xram intake. Carroll said he got a ticket for 190mph on Nevada country road.......how did the guy catch him?????
Nevada highway patrol choppers should catch him no problem. I have been to a Open Road Race out in the boon-docks of Nevada and some of those guys are averaging 200mph +. Thats an aweseome 66 though.

I'd love to be able to take that car out and open her up. Although I'd probably suffer the same fate as the guy who bought the second super snake off of Bill Cosby, may he rest in peace!
