Air Fuel Ratio Gauge Install

I am thinking about adding something like the AEM wideband A/F gauge and was wondering: What is involved in the install. Pretty easy or best left to a mechanic? Any additional parts needed and approx install time (not including mounting the gauge)? Thanks.

You'll need to have another bung welded in upstream of the cat. Other than that, the install is pretty straight forward other than time necessary to snake the wiring through the firewall and mounting the gauge pod.

I herd as far as wiring goes its about as easy as it comes.

A hot and a ground and then the bundle of wires through the firewall. Pretty easy.

Alright, seems pretty straight forward. Anyone know where to find a single gauge a-pillar? I have found them with holes for 2 or more gauges, but have not been able to find a single.

Hey stlwagon, what were you talking about when you metioned welding another bung? I thought that you would just tap/splice into an existing 02 sensor wire? What is a bung anyway? Is that just another hole for the supplied bosch sensor? Is it better to install the extra sensor, or is it OK to just splice in?

Since you can't remove the front O2 sensor, you need an additional location (bung) to screw the bosch sensor in.

Ok, I suppose I'd rather do it that way anyway. Really don't like to splice too much stuff together anyway. Keep it separate, keep it simple.

Midas can weld in another bung for you. Shouldn't cost too much. Just make sure it's upstream of the cat.
