I have been doing a lot of research on gears, because I am looking to buy a set of 4.10's. I was wondering where the best/cheapest place to buy 4.10's is. I have also read to stay away from Motive gears. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried the search feature, but there are so many threads, and I have read a lot of them, but nobody mentions where to get them from. Also, I have a 2006 GT Vert.
www.summitracing.com also carries them. Just make sure you order the ones ending in G410A to get authentic FRPP gears. If you order G410M, you're actually ordering Motive Gears. You'll also need a master bearing/install kit.
Here's my 2 cents. Most of the issues people have with gears (i.e., whine) is due to the installation. When I got mine, I let the shop buy the gears and install them. That way if there were any issues, they couldn't say it was because I provided bad gears to them. The entire job is now on them to be right. And since installation cost is probably 1.5x to 2x the cost of the gears, it was worth paying an extra $10-$20 or so to make them be 100% responsible for the entire project. As I recall, I paid them $225 for the gears.

That's a d@mn good point Don. Exactly what I'll do when I get back to the States. Just sucks I have to wait another 3 years for gears.

Yes, that is a very good point. I was thinking of having the Ford dealer here put them on, so that way they would still be covered under warranty. The dealership I bought the car from will warranty all aftermarket parts, as long as they are put on by them.

You're one of the lucky ones. None of the dealers in my area will touch an aftermarket part. Most won't even touch FRPP parts
That's a good plan! Hopefully they won't charge a leg and an arm... You can tell them that MD down in Cinci are a FRPP dealer and all parts plus install is $480 !!
