Question 2005 Mustang Hood Heat Shield Removal.

Anyone do this, going to put it back on but was wondering if the clips under there are reusable (unless you break em,duh). I know that sometimes when you get something off it doesnt go back on and look the same as before. Anyone got any ideas/tool theyve used before that worked well and didnt break the push clips? I tugged on it pretty good and there has be something thatd work well, just dont want it to turn into a major deal and looking for some advise is all.Dont really want to scratch under it but then again no one would see it but..... I just couldnt bear it knowing i scratched it all up. Going to do some detailing and want it off for the job. Thanks in advance and i know they should just pull right out but it sure doesnt seem to want to,theres about 20 of em i bet. Brent

I had a mouse build his house in mine lol, The dealer replaced it at no charge, there is a serated like edge around them. I don't know if the dealer reused them when they replaced the fabric though.

OK thanks. Thats exactly what i dont want to do is take them off and then have to go to a dealer in another town and get new ones. The Ford Lincoln Mercury dealer here closed their doors one morning to the shock of waiting customers. Many of who have to file civil cases because they didnt pay off their loan on their trade ins....Hopefully someone who has taken off the "mouse nest home" (in your case) will let me know, thanks again.Brent

Need a fork tool to do it right. Even so, you can't guarantee none will snap.
