Default turbo chargers 4.0 V6

any opinions out there on the two different brands (at least two)of turbo-chargers for the 4.0 V6? I have info on both pro-charger and the other one (Name escapes me...senior moment). One unit is self contained, doesnt tap into engine oil supply, the other one does.I want to apply the KISS principle here and drilling holes seems un-necessary,if you dont have to. Any opinions on install or hp/torque. They both moke claims

I believe you are talking about superchargers... not turbos...

And yes...

Procharger is self-contained in that it doesn't tap into the engine oil.

Vortech does tap the engine oil.

Both of these are centrifugal type superchargers. There is also the Explorer Express X-Charger which is an Eaton Mp90 (which is a hybrid roots type blower).

The X-Charger is going to be the easiest to install... but it's HP is going to be less, do to the fact it's not intercooled so you really don't want to run to much boost. The Procharger comes standard with an intercooler, while the intercooler is an option on the Vortech. These 2 system will give you more HP... with a good tune you'll be over 300RWHP...

this of course is just the tip of the iceberg... LOL

BTW... i'm running the Vortech...

this still doesnt help me out in the area of performance,,procharger VS Vortech..$$$ VS $$$ reliabilty and all that. Is self contained equal to or better or worse than tapping into your engine oil ...heating problems..maintenance..is performance the same?? why buy one as opposed to the other.both companies make claims and publish reports...but what works in the real world

Thanks for your input

man the x-charger looks sweet that's the kind of super charger i have been looking for I like that style better than the ones that sit down on the side of the engine. better start saving. cause that thing is sweet. might put one on the stang after the waranty runs out.

Or you could just get yourself the Powerhouse Pipeline V6 single turbo and make some serious power!
