I just wanted to vent. I was on US30 today near my home about to drop off my stang after I just washed it. I was going about 70mph, when these 2 KIDS, looking like they're barely sixteen pass me like I'm standing still. They were driving some junk camry or something. Well, I get the license plate because these kids must be doing around 95 coming into our small town. They weren't even paying attention and the passenger was flipping me off. I see the stop light ahead and I get into the lane to turn left and I'm going to roll passed them. I was going to slow down and give them some lip, but the driver's window was up.
Then I see them both turning to look at me and I could hear them through their window cussing at me and talking trash. The driver gave me a crappy look. I rolled passed acting like I saw nothing and they kept it up when they took off blowing past me... I was fuming and I was about 2 seconds from chasing them down, pulling them out of the car and beating the h**l out of them. It just makes me mad to see young jerks turning the roads into a playground just to "outrun" my car. If they would wrecked in my town and killed someone, I don't know what I would have done.... well, I'm done now. I just had to get it out. I kept my cool, but I've seen car accidents with the same type of kids missing their heads from rollovers... just makes me mad...

Not sure why you didn't step outa the car at that redlight and give them something to swear about. I don't stand for that crap, especially when kids like that think they are tough b/c they know most people won't bother to stop and beat their a$$. Wish I was there with ya Wally we coulda tangled with em

Years back my wife (girlfriend at the time) and I were driving down a 4 lane highway 40 mph and a rock smacked my new '91 Escort. It was just as a pickup truck drove by. I did a quick U turn and chased them down. As I was I saw a kid pop his head up in the bed and then duck down. I knew it was them. I chased them all around a neighborhood and finally cut them off. I knew I was in a bad area but it didn't sink in. They were freakin out, I acted like I was exchanging License info and then took their license and said I'm going to the Police Dept. and they should follow me. The cops and Parents squared everything away.
Recently in my '74 Chevelle (classic car)I was driving and I heard a boom, Instant flashback and again, a blazer took off. I was on them in an instant. I knew I was in a safe area. Then I started to realized it was a water balloon but not sure of the contents or if any damage. I then thought about myself 10 years ago and how lucky I was I didn't wreck or hurt somebody chasing down kids for something not life threatening. Why risk ruining this car. I just took the info to the cops and they caught the kids later and I got an apology from them and the parents. No damage to the car.
Point is, Kids are kids. I was an idiot too. I matured...kinda! But the bigger point is in this day and age....do they have a gun. Are they under age and mouth off in a face to face and you being over 18 get more furious and get yourself into a confrintation with them.....now your in the Hot seat.
Kids think they are invincible. Eventually they learn that the way all those cool, hot racers learned how to race, was by crashing lots and lots of cars.
Some NASCAR guy said it best. "Oh well. Win some, crash some."
Mommy won't be happy when her Camry comes home in need of a new body kit b/c junior wanted to "drift" his mommy's FWD and learned why you don't see that on TV.
dudes...it was a ricer flyby...the type we all laugh about everyday on the forum...lets not get all nutty over it...heres the indiana speed laws...check it out...only truckers are allowed to roll at 70 on special highways...so i guess they were both wrong

(6) On a highway that is the responsibility of the Indiana finance authority established by IC 4-4-11:
(A) seventy (70) miles per hour for:
(i) a motor vehicle having a declared gross weight of not more than twenty-six thousand (26,000) pounds; or (ii) a bus; or

(B) has four (4) or more lanes;
(C) is divided into two (2) or more roadways by:

I think you have to weigh less than 26 kilopounds (making this up as I go) to drive 70.
Had a recent case here in Michigan where a young man chased down a van with 4 teenagers that was upsetting the young man's family. Apparently the police even told the young man to try to get the license plate information for them.
The young man hit the van from behind sending it out of control and killing 3 of the 4 teenagers in the van. Now the young man is going to prison for life.
He's going to prison for life because his emotions and apparently bad judgement on the part of the police encouraging him to follow the van were in control of the situation.
If you see someone driving badly, in your opinion, call the police and let them deal with it. It is not your job to stop people from doing stuipd things and may cost you more than you are willing to pay.

Nah, I think I like the sound of the killing thingy. Was the young guy's car ok?
I wasn't speeding, I was slowing down from 70 b/c were coming up on the town intersection about a mile ahead where the speed limit is 35. I was going 70 on the highway, which is legal. These guys kept speeding up. There's no excuse for going in excess of 85 mph through a town intersection. I didn't chase him, we got caught at the same intersection at a red light. I went to the left turn lane b/c I was turning left to go home. NEVER did I accelerate to catch up with him, he just got caught at the same light I did. And I thought about saying something, but I didn't, I just ignored and made note of the car. Sorry for venting. Next time I'll just internalize so I just end up kicking hte crap out of the next stupid person to do it. Seriously, I know not to "chase" a car. Doing security here, we are strictly forbidden to just getting the license plate and following to get directions to police on duty...

actually, man, that is not right. 70 is the maximum speed limit on some posted major highways... like US30. I have a brand new copy of traffic law, b/c I have to study it for a class. There are exceptions, 30 in some sections is one of them. Semis are limited to 65. Are you justifying a retarded 90 mph run b/c it was just a ricer flyby?
