i want to lower my mustang but not quite sure how much of a drop i should do. i want to fit 18's eventually with 285's in the rear and 255's up front. wats the best lowering kit for my stang and how many inches should i drop it for the proper fit????
I used the eibach proline. They lowered my car approx 1.4 inches and it looks great with my 20 inch wheels. If you use the sportlines from eibach you will drop it a bit over 2inches and that in my opinion is too much.
They have two spring kits and the more aggressive of the two is the SP010. I have that kit with the stock 18" fanblades and the stock rubber. It rides awesome and looks great. At the very least you'll want an adjustable panhard bar to re-center the rear and Ideally some LCA relocation brackets. Give BMR a gander and if the aggressive drop is too much for your tastes the other kit should fit the bill. They have a lifetime warranty against sag as well.
Eibachs are awesome as well.

You are looking at about $230 for the springs. You may want to consider an adjustable panhard bar because your axle will likely shift and will cause improper wear on your tires and a bunch of other problems. You can do without the LCA's and possibly the adjustable UCA.
I used the Ford Racing Products handling kit. This came with struts, shocks, lowering springs, oversize sway bars. It all works well on the car. It lowered the car an inch and a half and improved the handling tremendously. If I was doing this for a customer we would probably charge 4-5 hours 360.00 to 450.00 plus alignment 59.95. I think the kit ran about 1400.00. Check out www.fordracingparts.com. I thought this was a good way to go as the whole system is engineered for the vehicle as apposed to trying to mate these items up yourself. Shock valving and spring rates need to work together to get the best results.

That looks smokin. But right now my car with Eibach Prolines miss the gutter on my driveway by .5 inches. If I go lower or add a CDC chin spoiler....scrape or crash. How do you get a jack under it?

Just had to buy a low profile jack. I have had no issues with scraping..........yet. I also don't have a chin spoiler, but that may be my next purchase.
I had a 96 stang that was lowered down, and it road like crap. Felt like you were riding a potato wagon. Also had to replace the steering rack twice because lowering it increased the angle of the tie rods and they would begin leaking from the stress. I would seriously reconsider lowering down a new car. It will significantly change the ride. You feel every bump and eventually everything squeaks and rattles.
If you are going to do it, definately go with a quality set up with the right struts and shocks and springs. Maybe you will be able to reduce some of the wear and tear, but if you lower it, it will ride rough.
I went with the Ebach Springs on 20' this made for a great look on the my LNR which I call Betty Mea. It's very low 4 1/2 off the front, no speed bumps, front edged drives ways, or railroad tracks! If your ride is a daily driver I would take notes on the roads you travel on before taking her out!

+1 on this. Life is great until you get headers. Then you have to take it real easy over those bumps.
I went with the Steeda Adjustable Suspension Suspension on my 2006 GT which included the lowering springs, D-Specs and new front struts. What I like about this system is that it's fully adjustable. You can lower it as much as you want then raise it if you get headers or just want a different ride height. The downside is that it's expensive, about $1600.
I'd recommend checking out Maximum Motorsports for their suspension packages. They've been doing Mustang suspensions for a very long time and really know their stuff. They helped me tremendously with selecting a suspension for my car that doesn't just see street duty.
