Default Mustang show in Myrtle Beach, SC

Any one go to the show at Myrtle Beach? It was great. While there, I talked to a 2006 v6 owner. He did a few modifications, tuner, gears etc. He asked Me if I ever did a modification on My v6. All I did was duals, with the H pipe and gt mufflers. He asked Me if I ever turned the key on, and not starting the engine, push the acc. pedal to the floor and hold it for a few seconds, then let it up and shut the ignition off for about 10 seconds. The improvement was definitely noticeable. Has anyone heard of this?? I can relatethat it does help. Any thoughts on this?? Thanks

The improvement I noticed is that it had no more lag at the start. The car just seemed to respond right away. I should have asked him what it did, but was interrupted by his son pulling up .

I assume you mean no lag like in going from a stop, not in starting the engine.

are you and he running Auto Tranny's?

I have a GT (5sp) and my gf has a V6 (5sp). I atually was driving her car today, (because I just enjoy her car so much) so would be interested to know if you are referring to and Auto or Manual. I am assuming an Auto.

Also, when you did this procedure, does it stay or does it evert back to regular after turning off the ignition?

I have a 2006 V6 automatic. THe lag went away at the takeoff. The pickup also improved. So far the improvement has stayed the same. Hope this helps.

Sounds very Kewl!

Do you have to go through this "Pre-Starting" procedure:
turn the key on -- not starting the engine.
push the acc. pedal to the floor and hold it for a few seconds
then let it up and shut the ignition off for about 10 seconds
...every time you turn on the car

or is it written into the system until another modification is made?
