Default Has anyone installed a Xenon Link HID kit on a 2005+ Mustang?

http://www.xenonlink.com/index.php

As shown in the link above, the Xenon link kit is a plug and play kit that installs in the factory housing. A friend of mine installed a set on his 03 Cobra and they are KILLER. I was wondering if anyone has installed a set on the new style Mustangs yet. I miss the HIDs on my BMW and thought this would be a good way to get that luxery back considering Ford are offering them as an option next year. With this it, factory bulb harness plugs into the ballast, ballast leads to the bulb which plugs into the factory housing.

Anyone with knowledge or experience, please share your opinions.

Thanks.
~Darren

I really want to convert to HID's too, very clean look. Did your friend install the same kit in the link? I've seen an s197 with HID's and it looks nice. There have been a lot of people complain about the kits not working right, or intermittently, or the color turning green over time. Also, if you want hi/low funtionality, you'll need a bi-xenon kit. I'm actually considering retrofitting some projectors but we'll see if that falls thru lol.

Our headlights- H13, in 6000 temp would be here...
http://www.xenonlink.com/index.php?cPath=84_87

I am considering going with that kit to start and if all is well, do the H10 kit in the same temp for the fogs later.

Would like to hear more stories. My buddy installed the 9007 kit in 6000 temp in his Cobra as well as the fog kit too. Car looks AMAZING on the road day and night, and the glare is not all that bad.

I want to hear some durability stories before I make the jump though. SVTPerformance guys seem to like this kit as well. Lets hope we hear more.

some kits work and others dont. it depends on the ballast. the voltage on the low beam is pulsed when the car is running with the headlights on. some ballast's can handle the pulse. others cant. in that case you would have to wire it thru the high beam. i just went through this with my 06 and my 07. i just fixed it with a new kit.

What kit did you go with? Are you happy with them? I am also looking at the Stangmods.com kit as it too seems to be reputable.

I installed a similar kit on my van and they are fantastic. They are well worth it. I put in the 8000k and love the blueish tint.

do we need a bixenon conversion kit? i picked up a single beam conversion from nbo for some cost savings... i consider the color just a little too blue though it's a great conversion. the blueish tint was a bit much for me.

+1

I used a 6000k hi/low kit from vvme.com - I'll have hids in every car I own from now on. They were easy to install. It took longer to figure out where to put the ballasts than the rest of the install.

I dont think any have like a failure system or anything like that. But trust me, when you switch to hid and you have a bulb out, YOU WILL NOTICE.

and for the record 6000k is the highest anyone should go, anything higher and its more for a look because there is no usable light just all blue-ish. I have tried 4300k,6000k,8000k and 10000k (I'm not rich, just the guy at the shop let me compare) and 8/10000k is real pretty but when its raining ,it looks like you have a maglite strapped to your hood and driving with the lights off.
