Default Questions about charge motion control valve delete plates

Well I was reading something on my other forum and noticed a comment saying the cmdp takes power from one part and adds to another. Is this true and how so if it is? and also I wanted to know what yall preferred C&L or JLT intakes?

There are some that can provide much deeper insight to it, but basically, there are valves in the intake manifold that can cause turbulence at WOT. These plates eliminate those valves and allow for constant airflow w/o turbulence. Must be used with tuner and will add ~10hp.

There are a ton of threads on this as well. Do a search and you will get all the info you will ever need.

The delete plates get rid of the the charge motion runner controls which control airflow into the intake at partial throttle. Even when fully open they cause some restriction. The delete plates get rid of the butterly valves leaving it wide open all the time. Must have a tune since the Spanish Oak processor is very sensitive to this and will toss a code without the tune. There have been various tests that show decent gains in hp and tq accross the entire power band but a few have lost some low-end torque.

As for the intake. I've run both the C&L and JLT II. I like both but I prefer the JLT.

If the valves are left wide open at all times. is there a downside besides the tq lost in the lower rpm

No problem... The mod is a very easy DIY job. Just got to have the custom tune to go with it. Takes about an hour to an hour and a half.

I like the JLT II... It shows the best gains in comparitive tests.
And no Stl never sleeps.

The Plates off the start acrifice a little low end torque in replace for high rpm gain. With the proper tune with timeing, etc... the tune can make up for the lost torque. overall gains are about 10 hp. Got them put in a bit. You can tell a difference a bit. I like em. got the FRPP ones for 80 bucks from a friend.

Some say you loose some low end torque but I didn't feel any loss. And you don't feel them open when you have your foot in it. I like the C&L racer for a CAI.
