Default 2005 Mustang GT... Baby's getting new shoes!

I've been searching for Mach 1 style wheels to go with my car for some time. I was going to just wait until I needed new tires, but at the rate I drive the car, the tires will be dry-rotted before I wear them out. I went with 17's so I could just re-mount my existing tires.
I got them at Lakeshore Wheel & Tire for $510 plus half price shipping ($44). I did a quick search and didn't find anything negative about them.

Now, if someone would just produce the grille I want, the outside of the car will be just the way I want it.

Nice choice on wheels! They should look pretty mean on your car.

So... Whatcha gonna do with those old 17" bullitts? (hint hint)

I've always thought that Weber makes a good grill. Add a Weber grill and your car would always be ready for tailgate parties at football games.

I like those wheels. I would prefer 20's, but those will look really nice on your car.

What kind of grill are you looking for?

I'd like a grille something like the CDC grille, but with the foglights and no pony emblem. I want to mount the tribar pony off center.

i didn't read the second sentence for a second and i was going to go nuts. Mustangs need a pony in the grill. But now that i read it, it sounds like a good setup.

Wheels look great. And I don't balme u for staying with 17's. I have the 16's on the V6 ad 18's on the GT Vert. The 16's provide a nice ride, the 18's a little harder, and I would think the 17' would be perfect.

I agree with you on the CDC grille. It is a nice grille, but 2 setbacks to the grille are, it does not have the foglight setup for the V8's, and the grille will not accomidate the V6 that has no foglights.

Ans why did ford not make the same grille size for both models is beyond me.

Well, after almost two months, I still haven't gotten my wheels. It turns out the company only had 3 wheels in stock, and only found out later their supplier couldn't get them any more in until February. So, they allowed me to cancel the order witout incurring any fees, which I thought was pretty decent. They admitted they couldn't fill the order. Apparently, they had sent me e-mails, but they had "Re:your order" on the subject line and were immediately forwarded to my spam box. I get that subject line for everything from meds to porn.
Well, they seemed nice enough so maybe I can convince the wife to get me them for our anniversary in the spring.
At least that frees up some cash for the '69 fastback I've got lined up.

I went to my Brother in-law's last weekend and mentioned I was looking for an older Mustang to restore with my brother, preferrably a 66 or 69. Well, we got there in the dark, and the next morning I run out to the car and lo and behold, what's sitting in the neighbor's driveway, but a '69 Mustang fastback. So I go trotting inside and let him know that, just in case he needs to know what I'm looking for, the perfect car is sitting next door. It turns out the guy wants to get rid of it because he's already started on another project car, so I can get it pretty cheap. It's a diamond in the rough, really. The paint is all faded and oxidized, and he's removed some of the parts, but it all seems to be there, the body's straight, and no major rust. I have to talk to the guy to get the particulars about engine and tranny. It's (or rather was) Acapulco blue, and isn't a Mach 1, but that's OK. It's definitely a sport roof, and that's what I really wanted. My brother in law's supposed to be getting me the guys phone number so I can talk to him directly, rather than relay messages through him. I've got a car hauler lined up, so I just need to talk directly to this guy and seal the deal. Keep your fingers crossed.

Big things to check are the floor pan and also if it has a cowl vent leak. Also check the shock towers for cracks.

I knew about the floor pan and the cowl vent, but wasn't aware there were issues with the shock towers. Thanks for the heads-up.

I know on the 65-67 it was an issue. Just look for vertical cracks and or weld repairs.
