Default Slotted and Drilled Rotors with Hawk Pads

I installed slotted and cross drilled front rotors with Hawk HPS Pads. WOW, what a difference!!!! Next I will be installing Goodridge steel braided brake lines and some new brake fluid. Much later after that I am going to install the 14" Brembo brakes from the GT500. I know there has been much debate, on both sides, about whether going to larger brakes makes a difference, so I am just going to find out for myself.

Is there a reason your going to the Brembo brakes? It sounds like you like the ones on the car now.

Will the 14" brakes fit your current wheels?

But they are 18x 8.5's. The Gt 500's have 9.5's to clear the brakes.

Here are a couple of pix. The rotors are from fastraxrotors. The wheels are 18 inches, and no the Brembo calipers won't work with them. I am going to try the Brembos because I want to know for myself. I have received pleny of information and grea advise from this site, but this is one issue that numerous people are divided on. So, I am going to find out for myself, one way or another.

Default Be careful on track

I used Bear slotted and drilled rotors with Hawk blue race pads. At Road Atlanta my pads ate my rotors. Every slot was gone and every hole was cracked. Now I use $60.00 solid Brembo rotors and carbotech pads. I haven't had any problems but if I do it's a sixty dollar rotor and not a two hudred dollar rotor.

Yeah, I knew I should not have ran with mine on. I was just to lazy.
The fronts cracked, the rears held up. Rotorpros warrantied them no charge. Stock rotors will be going back on next track day.

Which rotors were these? Eradispeed? or Decelerotors?

I run Baer 14" cross-drilled slotted rotoors on all four corners and have not had a single problem. My car stops on a dime and gives $.09 change back!

I bought zinc plated cross-drilled & slotted rotors on ebay - the cheap kind. I think that I'm going to regret that when I go out to the track for some road racing in mid February. They looked neat for awhile, but as you might see from the picture, they are starting to fade. I plan to put on my original rotors ... I might even consider doing it before bringing it out to road race.
