Smile 2008 Bullitt Mustang production has begun!

Well, Bullitt #1 has rolled off the line and we're off! Many ppl have received a VIN and build date, but I have yet to do so... sad day. But, I'm anticipating it greatly. Start looking for them on the road... as long as their is no snow, haha.

I meant to put "there," not "their." Sorry. Yes, I am taking the plunge. This is the s197 I have been waiting for (preposition at the end of a sentence=bad). I didn't feel comfortable keeping the GT/CS. I think I explained why earlier and I scored a great deal on this. X-plan and the car will be available for discounts and rebates if there are any around when I go to pick up the car. My trade-in on the GT/CS was VERY fair and they are actually going to see if I can get more out of it by it sitting on the floor for a little bit. I can have the difference paid off very quickly. I'm finally 100% happy with the purchase. I'm just bummed that it will be snowy when it comes. To keep me busy, my brother and I are putting in a new steering gearbox, rebuilding the carburetor/converting to electric choke, and installing a hurst shifter in the '68 GT/CS. It's a great winter.

Oh we will. The 68 is pretty much complete and beautiful looking, it just needs some new parts to refresh it. I could probably take it to shows and pull something away from it. It looks great. It's just hard to drive a manual steering car when the gearbox has about 4" of play in it.

haha... I've never driven a manual steer car, but from what my dad has told me they're like jet boats - can't turn unless you're in the gas.

okay that was and awful comparison... but you get the drift

Haha, that is actually a very good comparison. You can turn them, but it takes muscle. I will look like "Ahnold!" by next summer's end. lol.

Default first dyno numbers

Modular Depot just dynoed a new bullitt. It was only one run and no conditions posted.

New Bullitt on the Modular Depot Dyno - The Mustang Source Forums

273hp and very rich... someone on there is stating that a stock GT posted 27_ something brand new. That can't be true. I brought up testing conditions and such, but I see more complaining, haha. I'm curious to see more runs and see what the results will be. No torque for some reason, but that will be fixed soon.

Korey

PS: What's the percentage for a stick shift with drivetrain hp loss?

You would think they would be rated better since they have a CAI,(I think) different cam and exhaust set up. They are only rated 315 at the crank.

Same cam, just different damper. I'm interested to see numbers. But, until I see multiple runs with the same conditions, I take it with a grain of salt.

isn't there some loss on the dyno with the 3.73 gears?

Wally, did you end up losing money for investing in the mods that you preformed on your GT/CS or did it make the value of the vehicle go up? Cause i know you modded your 6 cylinder a bunch, modded the GT/CS a little also. Does this means that you are going to molest the bullitt also? or keep it in stock pristine condition like a NYT?
