I don't know if I would since this is my first Mustang and I love it but I do like the styling of the new model, plus the extra horsepower along all ranges of engines is very intriguing.

I just spent a half hour reading all of the posts in this topic just to make sure I do not repeat what others have already said. First things first. No, I would not trade my 06' for a new 2010, and here are my reasons.
Number one is, the car is too feminine for my tastes.
CrashedStang06 said this in his post: "Good point is that my business partner hates driving my GT. However when I was given a V6 car for a rental, she loved it!"
Chelle C said in her post: "Sure, in a heart beat. Don't get me wrong, I love my 06 and it looks and runs great but if I was ready to trade, I would have no qualms about it."
This makes me believe that Ford is definitely catering to the female gender with this change in body style. Nothing wrong with that. Everyone should have a car style that appeals to them. This one just doesn't for me. The body is too curvy and sleek. It has lost something.
Number two: When Ford showcased the S197 at the 2004 SEMA show, I knew within seconds of seeing the car that I would buy it. It had the raw retro look of the 68' Mustang I remember as a teenager. I waited for the 06' model to give Ford a chance to work out the kinks and I haven't regretted it since. I have 94000 miles on my 06' and it is still running strong. The new body style almost wants to make me yawn.
glidermom1 said this in his post: "The '10 has lost that retro look. Looks like ford is trying to look like the new camaro."
Bottom line: I will keep my 06' and take care of it for as long as I can. Looking at upgrading the power with the new Edelbrock Supercharger and a Ford lowering and handling package kit.

That is a good decision to upgrade. Otherwise, the owners of the 2010 will kick your butt.
You can't possibly run with a TrackPack 2010 Mustang GT. We have more horsepower and more gear. We also know how to drive a car to its maximum potential.
I am sure that your reason for not upgrading to the faster Mustang GT has nothing to do with the money that you will lose when trading in that old thing.
Sincerely,
Doc

i test drove the 2010 about a month ago and with what is done to my 05 it cant touch it in any aspect. but i do love the seats in it so if any body decides to put racing seats in their 2010 and want to sell the factory ones pm me.
I personally would not trade any of my cars for a 2010. Not even the V6. And it has nothing to do with owing the bank money or anything because they are all paid off. So thats out of the question.
One thing I have noticed is when the 05+ owners state their opinion the 10 owners become aggressive and defensive. We have certain flaws in our body also but we took it and either fixed it or left it. It is not a direct attack to you guys its an opinion. I just wanted to let that out because I have seen on both teamshelby and here the 2010 guys make it personal.
Every body style to me is considered famiily.

Who cares about stock? A stock ZR1 will smoke your stang, now lets get past stock and move onto what's a great platform for mods, pretty much any stang..."owner of what's about to be one of the fastest 95 GTs being actually driven"...yeah baby it's a stroker 427 pushing 650 hp

You tell those ZR1 guys that I will be racing at Sebring International Raceway in 2 1/2 weeks. I dare them to come race me on a road racing course.
I am sure that I'll see those garage queen guys lining up one after one.

I actually would trade in my 06 for the 2010 however I didn't because we have grown attached to the Saleen we have, so we just bought the GT500 instead of trading-in. Now once that new Saleen hits the showrooms, I may have to cut slingload on the 06.. LOL
my dad has a 2010 GT with the track pack and let me tell you that car is quick!! i've personally witnessed a chirp from the tires on a 3-4 shift. i didn't like the taillights at first but they grow on you for sure, the exhaust note is just heavenly, i LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE the fact that they gave it "shoulders" again, like on the 69/70's right behind the door the quarter kicks up a little.
and just for kicks here's my dads
First comment is, I would like to say I love all Mustang's!
I have read most of every post on this thread and found a little bit of dejavue (excuse the spelling) What I mean is, every major model change has the previous model owner's not liking it for some minor or major changes or reason's. I am one of them as I was at one point going to keep my 2005 Windveil Blue GT for the rest of my life! When I think back I was going to stay with my 1995 GT, 1987 LX 5.0, for ever also and no matter what Ford did it would'nt matter! As my sig reflect's this did'nt matter because I moved on to a newer and better Mustang each time. All my Pony's were modded, some more then other's and it never end's, period! Personally I like the changes and got to a point in my life to finally possess the Pony of my dream's! A 2010 Shelby GT 500! I have already ordered modification's for the 500 and could'nt care less about the hated tail as I don't see it! Those who do are obviously behind me where they should be and if I can help it, will stay there!
What's most important on this greatest Mustang site is to alway's support each other and all Pony's! It's what keeps us all coming back to learn, chat, and enjoy these machines we all love!
Thank's for listening.
Ponywill
