I own a 2010 GT Premium 5spd.
Gorgeous car. I can't say for much improvement, speed wise over the 05-09 GT but handling over my 2007 v6 is simply ridiculous.
As far as flex go, i feel very little, I swing this baby round turns at 65-70 with minor roll or flex, however the premiums i believe have some more chassis stiffeners and/or strut bar over the deluxe.
If I could say anything get the 3.73 gears. the 3.31 are simply too long for the v8 to really expose it's potential.
The 5spf Transmission and shifter combination shifts way smoother and more intuitive than any stock shifter I have ever driven.
As for the look. Top notch all around (maybe save for some plastic parts here and there) I drove 3 years with an 07 with white stripes and I got looks and thumbs ups here and there. But this baby, people stop me and get into full long convos about the car and how it reminds them of their older 69-70 etc.
My dad had an older
stang back in the day, and he always appreciated the 07 I had and the retro look, but his eyes are such a glow to the 10 GT, he just wants to take for a spin everytime I come home, never seen the old man react like that haha.
At points i feel its a little more retro, especially exterior wise with the higher hips and curved inner lights. I bought HID set because it positioned the main bulbs closer to the hood pillars reminiscent of a 302 boss. the rear no one likes and I cant say it won me over but the use of LED technology and catching them in the reflection of windows at night they look a hundred times more retro then the 05-09. although I would consider a kit that made them more horizontal than have that akward angle down.
And lastly the emblem on the back cheap plastic wtf. I want a metal one nice and chrome.
I give the 2010 a 9/10 . If I had 3.73 gears and maybe 50-75 more hp she'd be a 11/10. Hope all goes well in 2011! just hope the price doesn't rise.
called up ford customer care and checked on the status of my order, they said that my car was in production (i assume that means it's being built), I guess the shipment date is the 12th (the day it gets shipped on the rail car), and delivery date is supposed to be Oct. 31st.
... I have to admit that the automatic gearbox transforms the car into something completely bad compared to the manual one's , i am starting to regret my decision; but since it's my daily car I try to enjoy what i have to the max
