Just saw this today. Roush coming out with a Stage 3 and a more bare bones edition 540 HR both with 540 HP. $46k for the bare bones one (no stripes and other things you don't need to go fast), that's a buy.

The new Roush's are sexy...and this one seems pissed off, but still gonna be expensive. Im sure they will me marked up about 10k when they hit the showrooms.

$46k for a car with forged internals, and 540 HP? that sounds like a better deal than the shelby especially since it will be lighter as well. I wonder if it will still have the 4.6 in it though....

Both the 2010 ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang and the 2010 ROUSH 540RH Mustang use the same engine that debuted in the 2009 ROUSH P-51B™ Mustang. In order to get this type of power from the Ford 4.6L, 3-valve engine, ROUSH technicians replace many of the internal components with stronger parts including forged aluminum pistons (with an increased dish to lower the compression ratio from 9.8 to 8.6), forged steel H-Beam connecting rods and a forged steel crankshaft

Just talked to a local dealer and no, they said only $18k over the standard GT (basically sticker). Thinking about ordering one this week-end, the 540HR, to replace the '07' 427R.

From a post I made on this subject in anther section:

...I was at the Roush building on Friday morning getting their stage 3 suspension kit installed on my plain jane '06 Mustang GT, but that's the subject of another post.

While there, the rep took me for a 15 minute ride in the 540RH. All I can say is WHOOO HOOO. What a rush...or is that Roush?:-) The rep said it was rated at 540 hp at the crank but it was actually more like 575. All I know is that I've never been pinned back in my seat like that before.
