Default Test drove the new GT Mustang!

Not very impressed. I drove down in my 1990 GT (pretty much stock except for full exhaust, shorty headers, and a cold air kit) and perhaps thats why I was not as impressed as I should of been. My 5.0 with a 5 speed and 3.55 gears will start roasting the tires anytime in first or second with a quick foot to the floor. In the New Mustang GT 5 Speed it wouldn't even spin the tires when I dropped my foot all the way to the floor in first, much less second gear (with traction control off as well). The only thing I could think was that maybe this car had some serious freeway gears in it. If anyone knows the codes it was CG. I'll add that even when it was accelerating it didn't have a throw you in the back of the seat element.

Anyways, sorry for the poor review. Just not a fan from the performance I received. Hopefully next year the Coyote will change my mind.

My dads 07 GT/CS with 15hp less seems quick compared to my 00 GT. There not crazy fast but they move just fine with a strong power band. And just because you couldnt spin the tires mean anything negative for performance. You're comparing pre 1980 suspension technology to something that was designed just a few years ago and you wonder why it hooks better? But regardless with my dads 07 I have to be careful on those stock tires compared to my car... shes gotten loose on me a few times unintentionally and if you want to smoke em it couldn't be easier. Not sure why there such a difference in reviews here.

It's hard to accurately compare your car that you've worked on and personalized with a modern car straight from the factory. Stability Control, Traction Control, drive by wire, blah blah. With the proper tune (and checking the right box for better gears) the 2010 would be a similar animal. The Coyote should perform less than expected from the factory as well, +100 HP of course.

Yeah I understand the technology is newer and helps for it to hook up a lot better but even so I didn't feel like the acceleration was as hard as it should of been. Maybe I just have high expectations. Anyways, it's still a fast car and I'm sure it would dance on my 5.0 but I think I'll just have to keep looking. What I actually want is an 03 04 Cobra. Much cheaper too!

Feel? That's for girl friends...and they lie!

Give me a 1/4 mile time slip or it's just 'feel!'

I have the 3.31 gears and i roast first and chirped 2nd and 3rd easy. But it's a lot more refined I'll say that and it's a lot more calm with TC on.

however that's all show, I rather have the traction, more traction means better times baby.
