I would recommend the Edelbrock just for fit and finish. The engineer's brought their car down to us for dyno testing and we got to take the entire unit apart and see why it is so much more efficient.
But for the power, Whipple is your answer is you want to stay with a positive displacement set up. We have installed dozens of each so if you have any tech questions or concerns for each, feel free to shoot me an e-mail and we can give you the pro's and con's of each system. Eric@impulsecars.com |
The Saleen is junk? When made it was an OEM piece. Now if you want to say dont buy it because of business issues I would agree. the Saleen is pretty efficient, a twin screw, comes with an intercooler and is one of the most popular blowers on the 2005-2009 mustang. It kills the old model Roushcharger. I know Im bias but with 9PSI I should be around 430 at the wheels, the car drives like stock and has 0 problems. If you want to explain why the Saleen is junk Im all ears. but you just saying its junk and adding no reason why is meaningless and not helping the OP get his question answered.
OP even though I own a Saleen blower I would probably choose another brand now that Saleen Inc is under new ownership and there are questions about how much longer they will stay in business. But do not listen to someone who claims it is junk. Im sure he will come back and say something like "I know a guy who had one and the internals came undone and ruined his engine" or some other didnt happen to him but someone he knows story. The number of people on this board who run a Saleen is large and everyone of us loves them.
Heres some choices.
Positive Displacement Blowers (makes full boost right off idle)
Twin Screws:
Kenne Bell
FRPP
Whipple
Techco
TVS Roots:
Edelbrock
Roush 2300
Roots:
RoushCharger
Magnacharger
I would stay away from the Roots blowers just above. While they are nice kits and reliable they represent older technology and wont make the power of the TVS or Twin Screw kits. For the most power Kenne Bell is the way to go. But anyone of these kits will make more than enough power to blow your engine if you added enough boost to the stock short block.
