Default P&P and Cam shaft

Afternoon Fellas,

After careful consideration to any modifications I would like to do, I came down to the conclusion of obviously of the Track Pack 2. But apart from the gears tires and suspension work I do feel it's also appropriate for some engine work.

I'm looking to P&P the heads and maybe throw in a throatier camshaft. Is there anything else I should look into? I actually found a shop a couple miles from my place that specializes on Mustangs.

Supercharger was on the menu but that's a little out of my price-range. I'm trying to keep this P&P job below 5000. What do you guys think?

I'm hoping to expect gains of about 50-60 hp/torque.

Opinions, let em rip

-Dewd

That's a possibility, not the biggest fan of the Supercharger Whine. However, that is a nice price, I can only imagine the labor charge involved.

I'm a little hazy though, Would the supercharger essentially tear apart a stock engine or would I need to solidify the engine a little more?

You should be fine with that one. Once you start making 450-500 rwhp then you need to start looking at strengthening the engine/tranny. Also, the stock engine can handle 8 psi easily. Installation is $650, but it's in Indy.

Hmm... This is not a bad idea at all JR. I guess if I could find a Supercharger below 4000 and install it under 1000 and purchase any other accessories, gauges etc it would be a nice deal. Maybe I'll ask this shop near me what they could do.

Thanks for the heads up.

No problem. Once thing though, you should consider where you want to eventually end up with the car. For me, I have some lofty goals which I may or may not reach, so starting out with a small, entry-level supercharger might end up costing more in the long run. However, if you will be more than happy with 400 or ponies, I would say that's a good plan for you. You can always upgrade parts here and there, add an intercooler etc.

Well first things first, is the track pack.

if I have the 5 k to spare, I like this Roush Supercharger kit for 5000, Im just curious on installment, though I have some friends that I think can help me out.

But I think Im gonna start with just the track pack, maybe a cam shaft change for a more throaty sound. This car is still my daily and rolling 93 octane and 435 hp 400/trque could be a little much haha. Though I'd enjoy the look on some camaro's faces as I leave them in the dust .

but for now, daily, gears, sound. enjoy the ride.

if you do indeed go with the cams, make sure they are compatible with forced induction. this way when you want more power, you can strap on a blower
