Default a couple of questions...

first, how long does it take to build a car? last friday I called ford customer care and they told me my car was in production...called them this morning and they said it's still in production. I figured it would only take a day or two to build a car.

next, do the carbon fiber plates come in all 3.73 rear ends or just the track pack?

Production to them is when it gets assigned a VIN number, from that point it can take up to 4 weeks. And to answer the question, the most productive plants only pump out 1 car every 75 seconds or so, like a Toyota Camry, which is high volume...but that car may have started a week or so back.

another question...when you order a car with stripes from the factory..are they a vinyl stripe or is it another material?

reason I ask, if sometime down the road I decide I want stripes on my car, I can order them from an online vendor and have a body shop put them on, i'm wondering if the ones I get online would be the same quality and durability as the ones ordered from the factory.

I'm assuming you can wax/seal over them, but you probably cant use a polishing machine right?

I have a black GT and I use Meguiar's NXT wax. I called them up because I have white vinyl stripes that I had put on. Meguiar said do not use their wax on vinyl. Of course we also know that you don't put wax on plastic parts either.

From the time the shell starts at one end of the assembly line till it drives off the line into the holding lot is about 6 hrs. Your build date should be the date it is on the assembly liine. Mine was built Aug. 30th and shipped Sept 2nd.

I have a factory white stripe, I belive it is vinyl. Was told not to use any high pressure drive through car washes they will make the stripes peel.
