The equipment for the 5.0 coyote line continues to arrive. No summer shutdown for "coyote people" the line is to be up and running by June 20, 2009. First builds due to start in July for testing.
Things are going well from all I have heard. I am saving my coin for the "new" 5.0 Mustang

So, let me just recap to see if I'm understanding this correctly. The 5.0L coyote is indeed a Ford production engine with definite plans of being manufactured and installed, at least in their truck line up. As of now, Ford has not given an answer as to whether or not it will be offered in the 2011 Mustang or not, correct?

Correct. They want to sell 2010 GTs, so they're wise to keep quiet. It's only a matter of time. A test engine has been photographed in the engine bay of a Mustang - link to one of the posts here about it below:

Is any one is intrested in listening an old guy who has been this way before? Buying into anything Rev 1 is voulenteering to be beta testers and its something I have learned to aviod
.
One is that the price tends to be high as they sell to the must be first crowd.
Two is that all the problems have not been worked out yet.
My advice is to give it a year or three and let others be the ones to be hanging our in the dealers service waiting rooms. Check before you buy, The better dealers will have big screen TVs and free coffee. Maybe some magazines to read. Or a courtsy shuttle home.

BTW, has it been confirmed yet what the engine will be exactly? I've seen a few posts that say 4v DOHC, but does anyone know for sure?
Also, anyone know of any specs on the motor, such as compression, etc? Again, I've heard some speculation but nothing even quasi-official.
You're correct, 4v DOHC. Nothing numerically exact on compression, just expect it to be high. People are using the Aussie version to speculate on that, but sources say the US and Aussie versions will differ. Also, no Direct Injection at initial release like some had suspected early on. It may get DI down the road.

Everything is going really well. The coyote line is coming to life and pilot production is taking place to check equipment and familiarize operators to the new engine line. The line is ahead of schedule and under budget. Still looks like a December 1st 2009 start Job1.
