My 2011 GT engine computer got wet and I need to replace. The part number on the computer was BR3A-12A650-AXD.
I ordered one from a LKQ Salvage yard in Texas after I gave them the above number.
They sent me one with part number BR3A-12A650-AXC.
Are they dumb and made a mistake? Or do they know something that I don't know, and this will work fine?
Appreciate a knowledgeable answer as I am booked for the swap at the local Ford dealer first of the week.
Could you shed some light on the got wet part,I was under the impression those things were pretty well sealed, are you talking about the computer in the right side engine bay with the big plug ins??

THANKS for the help.
Yes, the main engine computer to the right of the engine, sitting just above the right frame rail area. I too assumed I could hose off some body shop dust and not cause any problems. After that the car started running funny and now won't run. A Ford mechanic buddy came to my aid and borrowed the dealers scanner that showed a possible bad computer. It has to go to the dealer for the final tests to prove this to be 100% true. I didn't want to be at the dealer without a good used matching computer in hand.
THANKS. I will check with the seller tomorrow to see if they know something that I don't, or ---- simply never learned the alphabet.
Will also check with the service dept at dealer where the repair is booked.
I just looked in the owners manual as to the procedure to clean the engine compartment, they say to cover the fuse box, battery,Air Box,Never wash or rinse any ignition coil, spark plug well,or the area in and around these locations.ZC-20 engine shampoo and Degreaser (USA ) CXC-66A Canada.Info found in the Ford owners Manual Page 266-267,nowhere does it state or show to protect the computer from water.hope this info might help OP.

AXC vs AXD. The AXD is a revision of the AXC. May be software or hardware but it is probably a small revision. Don't see why it wouldn't work though if both cars had the same driveline, IMO.
The salvage yard says the 2 are compatible. They say they get their info from a Hollanger book that initially comes from Ford. Heading for the Ford dealer tomorrow on a trailer so we will find out I guess.
Thanks for help - Will post results.
We never got to a point at the dealer where we found out if this new computer would work. The car had been worked on the rear due to a collision and a ground wire for the fuel pump driver was not connected. All fixed.
