Ford Racing "Sport" and "Touring" exhausts

Just saw that the FRPP website now has sound clips of these two exhausts for the Mustang GT. I called FRPP to inquire about these and he said they are made by Borla...he didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about though.

2011 GT SVT Muffler Kit (standard on 2011 GT500)

He also said there will be a SVT Sport exhaust kit similar to the one out for the GT later this month and the exhausts for the SVT bolt right up to the GT. Finally!! I think the GT Sport exhaust sounds wicked; that is the one I would get until I hear the SVT Sport ones.

The sport sounds good,a little like my Magnaflow comp series.

the touring sounds like a bike in that clip

I ordered the FRPP sport mufflers and they will be installed this Saturday. I will upload some sound clips for you guys. I also ordered the Ford Racing procal/k&n filter combo but that won't ship for another week or so...I will let you guys know how that is as well

I am also on hold for my 2010 gt500 steering wheel since they are backordered I guess (should have jumped on it sooner)

Does anybody know why the Sport Exhaust is so much more than the SVT kit?

I checked online to see the difference between 409 stainless (SVT) and 304 stainless (Sport). Here's a quote I found.

The most common stainless steel used by muffler shop is the T-409. Borla use T-304 stainless steel grade. It's why the price is so different. A Borla looks great and will shine for ever! T-409 is good for peoples who live where there are no calcium or where the corrosion is not a problem. T-304 is for north american and canadian peoples who want to keep their cars for more than 3 years in a corrosive environment

2011 Mustang 5.0 sterling gray, manual, Brembo, 3.73, HID, security pkg, Canadian model. Borla S-Type axle-backs, Airaid CAI and Bama tune. Barton shifter and bracket waiting to install.

Borla has been on here several times saying that they went through like 15 different designs before they settled on just the right sound for the 2011 exhaust. It makes me wonder if they give Ford Racing design #13 that wasn't quite as good and keep #15 for themselves.

that's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard ...it doesn't make sense for borla to financially support the production of two complete different designs..the only thing changed on these is the ford racing logo embossed compared to borla logo

I'm sorry. I wasn't knocking on Borla. I just bought a Borla S-type cat back system. I just wanted to point out that Ford Racing doesn't make any of their exhausts.

yeah they don't "make" a lot of their parts (hardware) they pick reputable suppliers that meet their specs..except software for tuning that is done in house I believe

I wanted the ford racing tips..might be easier to convince cops
they are legal if pulled over for being too loud in CA hahaha
