2012 Mustang GT Dyno results

2012 Red Candy GT. Steeda cold air, Boss intake and Custom tune. Car is 3.73 gear, 6M

423.6hp. on a Mustang Dyno

Feels much better with a tune. I did the work last week and although it did run today was a big improvment.

Sorry no graph but it was 367hp (on the same dyno) in stock form with about 60 miles on it. Now it has about 1150 miles. I have had it about a month.

Sorry , I could not see the graph that well.

Are you saying 423 RWHP or to the crank after the Boss Intake Mod with a tune?

If it was to the crank, what would have been the RWHP, do you know?

Not questioning you claim, just clairifing..

thanks

That is definitely RWHP which would put flywheel hp around 480.

423 rwhp on a Mustang dyno. I am quite pleased with the job the guys at Steeda in Milton did for me. I did some research and followed their recommendations and got some help at the end to make my project a success. For anyone in the Toronto area I would check them out. The combo is rpm driven in nature so if you don't like to rev your car the boss intake will probably not be for you. In my situation I am thrilled and find it fun to drive. For me its a good mod with nice results but I am not sure its for everyone.

BTW: Special thanks to Todd at Steeda for going the extra distance for me.

What was you peak torque numbers before and after the boss intake? I am thinking about getting a boss intake but don't want to sacrifice torque to much.

I would purchase a CAI and tune right now, but I'm just worried that for some reason it has to go back to the dealer for something, the would void the warranty...

If it has to go back to the dealer for something just take the tune and CAI back off. Shouldn't take more than a half hour to put it back to stock.

Peak torque wasn't all that great. I think it was 370lbs/ft. It was about 10-12 lbs foot lower then the CAI, tune/stock manifold combo (that is what the guys at Steeda said). Bekow 3000 rpm it is ok but not wild. At 4000rpm its like 150 shot of nitrious hits. My car has 3.73 gears so for me its ok. Like I said this intake may not be for everyone. :smoke:

Agreed...I would think 1/2hr would do it after you have done it a few times. Even the boss intake is less then a one hour install. I did it in about 40 minutes.

Ya thanks....Quite frankly I was pleasantly surprised by what the darn thing did as well. I am old schhol chevy and it used to take so much work to make 400rwhp. Today basically stock cars blow right on by in the over 400rwhp catagory. Thumbs up but its shocking what this new technology does. Coverters, pump gas, limited budget, Stock exhaust, 400 rwhp and fuel milage?? = No problem!!! = Amazing.

Just to compare my 94 Z28 when new with similar bolt ons was about 280rwhp and I was thrilled!!! Darn times have changed!!

Thanks. I have a similar setup with CAI, tune, 3.73. I'm at 390rwp and 382rwtq and I am thinking I would not feel that torque loss to much. Might be getting a boss intake.

When you buy the boss intake is everything included for the install? I've seen postings you have to buy an install kit.
