Default How much should a Dyno Tune cost?

Got a quote for $400 plus $20 for Dyno supplies and sensors. Seems kind of steep. This does not even include the Tuner, priced seperately. Anywho was wondering what others are paying and if this was a fair price??

Seems like an email tune with data logging is more cost efficient and accomplishes the same result for half the price?

$400 for a tune sounds about right to me actually, that's what I paid to tune my 370Z

If all you have is a stock car with with cat-back exhaust and no CAI, then there really isn't a need for a Dyno Tune. I think you would be perfectly fine with a tune from Bama, Lethal, or Steeda.

I prefer a hands on tune from a dyno . Problem is that not all tuners are created equal. My car in the last two years has been dyno tuned twice and the first was $400 and second was $310 . The first tune was better at low and mids . Its a long story but when the first (better)tuner gets back from out of town he want to retune the car !! To me $185 for an email tune is about double it should be. Bama Tunes, when it was in Jasper Alabama used to charge $75 a tune .

You should'nt have to have a SCT or Diablo tuner . The tune can be flashed straight to the car . Only if you want to flash back to stock do you need a SCT tuner to do so .
My first dyno tuner did'nt even ask for the SCT tuner .

Thanks for the feedback. Good information to have as I explore my options. 3k miles and counting and I'm not doing anything until after my first oil change and I get a bit of cold weather driving behind me to make sure no weird one-off cold weather issues pop up.

Fortunately ford made one bad Azz car stock to help the time pass.

$400 - $600 for a dyno tune is the standard rate.
