2012 Mustang GT Performance Upgrades

First off.. Hello. I'm new to your forum, but I have owned Mustangs off and on my whole life. The latest is a 2012 GT with the Brembo Brake package with 3.73 gears. That said, here we go.

I looking to start increasing the performance of the 302 and I would like to get some good suggestions on the correct path, what to do first, and some good information on the best products to use.

I already have install the cat back GT350 exhaust and love the sound. I have made my mind up on the GT302 intake, if nothing else for the astetic value. But I am pretty much open on the rest. I do not intend on going to the track, but I would still like to be able to if I should change my mind.

ANy suggestions would be appreciated. I'd rather hear it from you guys, then trying to sort it out from the vendors.

Buy a vortech supercharger, all the performance you'll ever need.

You'll need more traction than those crappy stock tires. I have the same setup and my car always fishtailed towards the drivers side. Rear suspension upgrades will be necessary. I have heard that a lot of Brembo pckg cars have problems with the rear sliding out to the left on takeoff.

Thanks for the pointers. I already have the catback exhaust, so my question is, does your state have a "state Inspection" on vehicles, and if they do, have they noticed or said anything about the X pipe?

Intake, no cats, gears (maybe 4.10s since you already have 3.73s) & retune.

Then suspension and tires to put the power to the ground. The power is a waste of money and time if you can't put it to the ground!!

Rims are a pain in the ass to find for Brembo package. The only rims I could find in 18X10 other than crappy looking American Racing wheels were the Roush. Be prepared to spend big money if you upgrade wheels.

Yes with adding power you must add suspension to keep the power to the ground.

Sort it out with the people first, then give us a call if you want us to start putting together a package for you that will suit your needs and your budget.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread but I have the same prob except always to the right. I thought with the LSD they would hook up better and not sit sideways on launch?

I got 18x9/18x10 GT500 replicas with Nitto NT555 285/255's for around $1200 shipped. Sold the stock brembo's for $900. $300 isn't too bad at all IMO

These are what I picked up 05-12 Black GT500 Style Wheel and Tire Package (NT555)

Don't have to worry about your local tire guy...they come mounted and balanced just throw them on your car when they come in
