BOSS 302 Intake Manifold?

I have a 2013 GT and I have only added a BBK CAI and I have a BAMA 93 Octane Tune. Thinking about added the BOSS 302 intake manifold. What do you think?

The first question is what are your plans for your car in the future? If you are going to want BIG power (I think most people do), you probably want more than you can get from N/A and will want a power adder. At that time the $600 you spent for the intake will end up sitting on a shelf in your garage or selling it at a discount on eBay.

So think what you're gonna want...:?:

Do it! You know you wanna
It's my next mod.. JEGs have them for $409
As for power adder its obvious you will have to shelf it if going roots style or twin screw blowers. Or keep it and go Paxton, Vortech, Pro Charger. There's nitrous plate systems and recently read up on direct port injection available for that manifold. You know you wanna even if you don't have a power adder in mind

Yeah I obviously have a wish list full of things i would like to do but i think adding this manifold will allow me to get some good power gains and will satisfy me long enough to move onto other things before coming back to the engine. It is good to know that there will be options to increase to even more power in the future and still be able to keep this manifold and not have to replace it. Just FYI my next mod will be the new Borla ATAK full exhaust and long tube headers. Then i will be getting the comp stage two cams.

That sounds like a plan to me! The available power of this manifold starting at 5500 RPMs makes dollars/sense to me. It's a big split on people's opinions of it but till I see threads of Boss 302 owners scrambling to install GT manifolds for more torque well.. Hehe
Big yes on the Borla atak! I had an opportunity to hear it in person Wednesday evening for the first time..
Badazz, BTW welcome to the forum and congrats on your new ride

Yeah i think its a pretty good plan lol. But like you said everyone is going to have their own opinion of whats best. I am new to forums period so its nice to see what other people suggest. I really want to hear the atak exhaust in person. All i have heard is online and read all the awesome reviews on it.

I spent days and nights thinking of buying the boss intake. I even found a used one with low miles as cheap as $300. But decided not to go down that road. It's really more of a beautiful engine bay decoration and some 10-15hp ONLY above 6500rpm at cost of -20ish torque at mid range. Buy a used one if you can find it. Otherwise not worth the $600 investment. Save for a blower. I see brenspeed and evo performance have awesome 650-700hp roush and whipped packages. From now on every spare cash I have goes into my blower fund and the looks of a SC under the hood is just glorious.

Yup till I saw people down at MIR laying down mid 11s with a Boss manifold, X pipe, CAI, DRs.. Then I can't help but rethink what's typed in the forums.. On a good note one can save the $600 and put it towards the multiple axle back exhausts they are willing to purchase just to find that holy grail sound. Thats definitely more acceptable around the forums as it seems

Jeremyd43,

Great choice, I'm a huge fan of the Boss Manifold. We dyno tested this system in house on our stock 2011 GT with just a JLT cold air intake, so you can be confident you'll see real gains from this manifold. This manifold is the perfect starting point for your list of power mods - especially if you plan on going forced induction.

We've seen gains up to 55+ RWHP through out the curve. As far as loosing low end torque, we found that you really don't loose much at all. I see your planning on doing Long tube headers as well, that will definitely pick your low end right back up, so will a set of gears !

Let me know if you have any questions!

Check out the gains we saw:

Budget, Budget, Budget!!! Think about how much money you realistically can spend on the car for now. I had $5-6k to buy any parts for my car for the next year or two. A supercharger would have used all of that up, and I would not have been able to afford exhaust, suspension, wheels, etc.

I went with the Boss intake because it was the best performance intake that I can afford for now. You will LOSE low-end torque, but once you hit 5000rpm, HOLD ON!!! It will work with a paxton/vortech supercharger later on, if I get bored with the power that I am currently making.

Bone stock dyno 370hp 360tq.
After mods dyno 420hp 370tq.

2013 Mustang GT Base, with Track Pack, black, 3.73, 6MT, Boss 302 intake, SCT Bama tune, GT500 strut mounts, FRPP K-springs, FRPP adjustable shocks, BMR adjustable pan hard, Eibach camber bolts, BBK cat delete, Flowmaster 3-inch catback, Airaid CAI, Boss 302S wheels 255/40-19 front, 305/35-19 rear. 420 rwhp, 370 lb/ft trq.
