2013 Track Pack engine oil???

Hey guys, I am still fairly new here but have been lurking around for a good few months. I know this subject may have been beaten to death a few times but what oil are you guys using? Coming from a M5, we needed to use 10w60 which was only a dealer/online only available oil. Motorcraft doesn't seem readily available either.

Which 5w50 is the most popular amongst ya'll?

Thanks Guys!

Correct me if I am wrong, did the early track pack cars come with 5w-50 then the later production drop it back to 5w-20?

Whatever you have, I would use the weight grade on the filler cap...

anyway, for a full synthetic 5w-50 motor oil...

Motorcraft, Red-Line, Mobil1 and Castrol oil make or I should add, market, a full synthetic 5w-50 motor oil … I am currently using the Red-Line full synthetic 5w-50 motor oil... My next change will be Mobil1 full synthetic 5w-50 motor oil.

Motorcraft is not a bad oil, available at your local ford dealer for 12 bucks a quart...

It’s all your preference… six one way, a half a dozen the other…

I don't speak often but when I do, I don't have clue what I am talking about. I just repeat things that I once heard and do not repeat them correctly... My doctor told me it was an ID 10 T problem and it was incurable.
So when I reply to a post or add to a thread I just find the words elsewhere and copy and paste.

The 5w/50 Motorcrap isn't all that great it shears quickly to a 40wt oil within a couple of thousand miles. You would be better off using something such as Amsoil 10/40 which would be far superior to the Motorcraft stuff. If you wish to buy something readily available then Mobil 1 0/40 isn't a bad choice either. Check out SVTperformance.com there have been some good reads on using a good 40 weight oil in place of the 5/50.

All track pack cars are specified for 5/50 based on intended use. As far as I know there has been no change. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

I Have A Late 2013MY Track-Pack Stang (Oct.) And My Oil Cap Says 5W/50 And My Car also Had A Supplemental "Fluid Specifacation Page For BOSS And GT Track-Pack Vehicles" That Was Shoved Into My Driver Side Doors Map Pocket.........This Page Also States 5W50 Full Synthetic Recomended.......But if You Aren't Going To Beat The Snot out Of Your Car 5W/20 Won't Hurt, As it's The Same Engine As Any Other GT......With The Addition Of The BOSS Oil Cooler..............Sean

Motorcraft is a fine oil, certainly the equal of M1 which comes in about 50 formulations these days it seems. Its UOA's I have run on 5w20 have always looked fine. Amsoil makes a good product too. I am not big on RP and I think Red Line is overkill for street use.

I use Castrol 5w40 although my car specs 5w20. My mods could survive on 5w20 but I wanted xtra overhead. 5w40 is a multi-vis widely used in Europe where stop and go and extended high speed driving are found; if it is good enough for Mercs and Bimmers I figure it is a good all-around choice for my car.

For 5w20 users: BTW, if you can find 0w30 Castrol, that is the famous "German" Castrol which is legendary on BITOG ) Bob is the Oil Guy) for its outstanding UOA's. It is made in germany rather than blended and pours with a green hue which must be the magic.

2011 GT Premium Brembo ("Spirit"), Kona/red, 1.5" drop, Goodridge SS brake lines, 3.73's, LPW Ultra diff cover, HID, JLT oil catch can, FRPP ProCal II w. Airaid, FRPP X-pipe, Roush axlebacks, Boss LS tranny cooler, Boss oil cooler, Boss radiator, Torsen T2-R; FRPP "K" springs, struts, shocks, mounts, anti-rollbars, upper strut brace, poly bushings; Barton shifter/MkII bracket, CG-Lock, Grabber knob, silver Forgestar CF5 19x9 35mm offset, AE aluminum driveshaft

Hi Yoichi,

You can use any brand, but make sure to use only fluid that meets Ford specifications (WSS-M2C931-B). You can refer to the Supplemental Guide provided with your vehicle.

I would love to change oils for my track pack car, however one of the perks my dealer gave me for buying from them was free oil changes including filters for life. Guess I'm stuck with whatever they give me!

I'm certainly going to remind them that it gets 5/50!

I've been using Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic (5w40) in my Track Package car for a while with good results.

This ^^^ It has been getting really good UOA;s over on BITOG. My daughter is running it in her 08 GTI. She just got the first UOA back with good results. Plus it''s 4 quarts for 21.96 at wal-mart.
