Cold Air Intake on 2013 Mustang GT

I am considering installing a Cold Air Intake on my new 2013 Mustang GT.
My concern is with the heat extraction vents on the hood and how, rain will effect the cold air intake. Has anyone found a solution?

I've a tune - but 'only' the FRPP one. So I use the no-tune insert.

Not going to install another tune during warranty - pretty happy so far

JLT also makes a piece of foam that inserts between the hood liner and hood blocking the vents.

If not going to tune the AEM intake has a fully enclosed box so no worries about leaks.

I would go for the C&L. They addressed the water problem and give you the flexibility of the no tune option with a documented power increase.

There have been many threads about this.

Go with whatever CAI you want. The amount of water that goes in there won't harm anything. If you sit there and spray a hose or pressure washer directly at it, yes it's going to get wet. Just don't do it.

Or just get some foam inserts to block half of it off. I believe JLT includes that with their CAI.

I am thinking of getting this one for my '12, After all C&L is located right here where I live . I may just run over there. You can't argue with dyno proof. I also want to preserve the warranty so the no tune option looks good. I have had 100 forum members tell me a "cold air kit" will do nothing without a tune. Hey 11-12 HP at the wheels is something to me.

I run the C & L intake on my 2013 Boss and love it. Didnt need a tune once I was ready I took out the sleeve and tuned it.

I also have the FRPP and the stock air intake, I couldnt see spending money on something that wouldnt give me more power.

If you're in the neighborhood they will probably dyno your car for free to show you the difference before you buy. That's what they were doing last summer.

MagicA4 thanks for the info I think I will go with the "CL" and have a custom tune done. I will also add an X pipe as well as Rouch axle back exhaust. I hope this will work and that I don't have too much of a groan at highway speeds
