bbr tune high idle

does your bbr tune idle at 1000-1100 rpms ?

does your bbr tune have an extremely responsive gas pedal ?

That sounds high even for any tuned engine. Time to get on the horn.

BBR got the reputation of poor customer service a few years ago when the owner/operator's mother started working there.

I had their tune for nearly two years and didn't have any issues. Once more mods started to go in the car I jumped to Brenspeed for the support and updated tunes. If I were you I would have stuck with BAMA.

long story shortened: Car went up for sale when i had my eye on a vette grand sport. ripped off the boss intake and the JLT and sold those immediately. then i started questioning the sale of the mustang. shopped around and found LMR had the boss intake with the BBR tune. so i bought that from them and the airaid intake from somewhere else. installed the BBR with the boss and airaid and immediately noticed these issues. parked the car after one real short trip and reordered a bama tune and BAM ! car runs like it's supposed to. and the topping on the cake is the JLT intake was replaced with the airaid and i no longer have a surge ! i confirmed the BBR tune was made for the airaid spacer being removed but that was the last we talked. unfortunate.

My BBR tunes run great! Their customer service is awesome these days (from my experience). All you had to do was call them and talk to Steve about it and Chris would have made changes for you.

I replied directly to BBR. The email they sent the tune on, i emailed back to double check it was for the airaid with the spacer removed. got a response on that. then after the tune was installed i sent over another reply asking about the idle and the super touchy pedal. I know some tuners like to change the pedal and thats great but i just don't feel the tune is safe. i did not email you directly because you guys did your part, i got the intake and install kit quickly and undamaged. thank you !

thats excellent their tunes run great ! Do you have a high idle and an extremely touchy pedal ?

It's no big deal now. I swapped out the tune real quick. i don't need a response from them any longer. I got lucky i had another avenue to take on the tune as this is my daily driver.

No tune should be idling at 1k. That is way too high. The norm is 650-700rpm. I know how you feel op. I just went through a crappy service with a tuner. I think some of these guys forget what customer service in retail business mean.

You might want to try svtp forum. BBR post on that forum almost daily.

Good day,

I would like to say that if their is any issues with our tunes, I would ask to call me so something may be adjusted quickly. On the email that the tunes are sent on, it asked not to respond to that email address. We use it to send tunes out only and ask if the customer can respond by phone or to Chris or myself.

With a touchy throttle. That is one of the signatures of Chris's tunes. But it is an easy swap back to stock response if requested.

With idling at 1000, we sometimes see that for the first few miles but while driving, the computer's adaptive learning put its back to 750-850rpm range. The factory computer will NOT let you go below 750 for idle. But if this still happens after 100miles max, than a easy phone call can be made and I will have it taken care of for you.

Another thing we do with buying our tunes through LMR, if theirs issues, we usually have you call LMR and they notify us about the changes. This way their is a paper trail.

I am sorry that you did not like the changed throttle response and would ask you to shoot me a call and we can discuss this further.

People who have dealt with me know I bend over backwards getting any situation resolved. Looking forward to hearing from you soon

the throttle response is neat but when it's idling as it high as it was it's reason for concern. in regards to the response about we don't respond to the tune emails - i got a response the first time i sent a reply, within a few hours of sending it. you can't tell me that you saw the first reply i sent and responded then missed the next 2 ? then no acknowledgement via email even after you read this thread?

the car didn't learn the new idle. i did the battery reset and the idle in the driveway and the cruise around. there was an issue, you failed to assist in the issue. You can't rely on the "phone call", you sent me a tune via email and i responded via email. in your response it says there may be a delay up to 48 hours. unacceptable in my opinion.

thanks for the tune ! I really like the way it runs. i have one question though, if you don't mind. The idle seems high. cold start it's up above 2000 rpm's for about 15 seconds then stays at 1500 rpms. once warm it idles at 1000 rpm's. if i remember correctly it was 750ish before. I did my checks of lookign nfor air leaks and did not find any issues so i wanted to see if you guys set the idle higher in the tunes.

Thank you

The fact a email was responded even shocks me. Why again I ask that you please email me directly if not call. I have not received anything from you since I first posted here. I check mine all the time and even have it linked to my cell.

Chris does all the tuning as well so please do not say I didn't deliever when as soon as I found this thread I singed up and responded. Again I will ask you to call. I personally find it easier than posting or emailing about situations.

I am trying to work with you and get you situated.

Hope to here from you soon. I do not usually check this site so if their is no response, that is why.

Thank you and have a good day.

On the rpms.... No. they do not let you go below 750. The factory computer will not let you and if it does, there is something going on that shouldn't be.
