Boss 302 Intake

I just ordered a Boss 302 Intake and I was curious if anybody out there has had any problems installing it. I have a BBK CAI and I was wondering if anybody has done the install with this same intake. Am I going to have to do any major modifying, or will it all fit nice and easy? Any input is much appreciated, thanks!

Install is very simple. If you run into any issues going back to stock is pretty easy as well.

I have read a few posts about people loosing power at lower RPM's but the upper RPM's more then make up for it. And since I plan on swapping gears in the near future I shouldn't have to much of an issue with it.

You have to rev the piss out of the engine to see the benefits of the boss intake.

^^Yeah, you lose a bit of torque down low but hardly enough to really notice. You don't hear Boss 302 owners complaining about the lack of grunt.

If your staying naturally aspirated then get 3.73's if you don't have them already. My car feels wonderful with my current setup i wouldn't change back to a taller gear if someone offered to do it for free, car pulls hard all the way through the power band to 7500. Great upgrade i just believe you have to be set-up right or you will not enjoy it. If your doing the install your self and its the first time it should take you about 1.5 hours going over everything carefully. I installed my brothers in about 45 min after i had done one already just search for instructions on line and go over everything carefully

I have noticed that most of the negative comments are from people who don't have the intake manifold. So I am definitely leaning more towards the comments from the people who have experienced the changes on their own and not just from reading about it.

Notice boss mustangs come with 3.73's from the factory , they got it right and the car loves the interstate. Even when i had my 3.31's in i loved the intake i just thing the 73's compliment it better

The intake for a GT can be made to attach. Notice I don't say fit or work. It will technically function if you don't get a vacuum leak, but it definitely won't be right, the geometry will be off and it won't perform like it should. The Boss and GT manifolds have the throttle body located and angled differently. You really should get a good BOSS specific cold air intake, or even get a used stock one.

If it is made for a GT it looks like it does. Look at the GT manifold and look at the Boss, look at the pad where the TB mounts. They are not the same. So by fine you mean has bent, stretched, or deformed enough to look like it works. How much difference it makes depends, but if it wasn't made specifically for the Boss manifold you are definitely leaving something on the table.

All i did was push it down a tad and it lined up fine, the MAF housing on the Airraid intake without the MVT tube us already 101mm so there is really nothing left on the table.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Do you spin your motor up past 8,000RPM? I didn't think so either. From all indications so far, this is STRICTLY a very hardcore track tool for only the most stout motors. The power band it tuned for optimal performance around 7750RPM and up.
