Did I read somewhere that you could have your dash lights change at a certain RPM so you dont over rev? Like they currently do if you hit the rev limiter? It would be like a built in shift light. I think I read that on this board somewhere but I cant seem to find out where. It would be awesome if I could set my car up to flash when I needed to shift drag racing.
Any ideas?

Thanks

In my 2014 GT Premium, the tach goes red just before I hit the rev limiter. If you're watching for it, you don't kill your run by having the motor cut out on you.

Ive hit the rev limiter doing a burnout before and seen the dash light up. I just thought I had read somewhere that you could actually adjust when the lights would flash. That would be a neat trick to use as a shift light. I know when im out there (and its been so long) but the adrenaline is pumping, my bad knee starts to shake real bad (clutch leg) and I need to pay better attention to my stock tach. Im used to a 5" monster tach with a shift light. LOL

I've played around in every menu on my 14 GT premium and see no way to set what you are referring to. Like others, mine just goes red shortly before fuel cutout.

Thanks - that's a bummer that would have been a cool feature. With the new 15's coming out with a line lock, they should put a shift light in there as well.

I thought I read somewhere that a parameter in a custom tune can change the RPM for the tach color change. But I can't confirm or deny that via a search.

Yea, it would require going into a custom tune, I just went through my options and found none. I was looking for this back when I got my car in 2010 as well and didn't find it.

Mine seems to go off when I am already redlining or so close that I can't react. It would be nice to get it to go off 500RPMs before red-line.

It turns red right at about 7K, so if you raise your rev limit, it acts like a shift light.
