Does anyone here regret their Mustang Purchase ( NOT BECAUSE OF SOME PROBLEM)

I was just wondering if anyone here ever second guessed their purchase of a Mustang. Here is what I mean: I am waiting for my order, but once in a while a thought crosses my mind that maybe I should have been more " grown up" and chosen something that is more serious. I was looking at all kinds of cars when making my decision, the Flex, the MKS/X, the Explorer, and the F150. Recently, I have visited a BMW and a Mercedes dealership :smoke:and even thought about the dark side, the one and only, THE COMARO :nogrinner (The interior is being redesigned, I like the exterior and don't mind visibility). My Mustang is going to be a summer toy, and I have other cars for winter so that is not an issue. Have you ever regretted the purchase? Please no regret because of some problem, I don't want another MT-82/clutch/whatever thread!

P.S. I owned a 2007 Mustang GT and thought that was the best car in the world. Never had any regrets.

2012 GT500. Black. SVTPP.

Dunno why anyone would regret it other than those having major issues. It is the best car for the money in the muscle car category.

And for reference I am coming from a grown up car (MB E55 AMG) and do not miss it....much.

My situation changed about six months after purchase. Moving to Florida, wished I would have gotten a 'vert.

Which I would do....................except for the 'cold engine knock' and Ford's ostrich-like response. Now I'm using the Florida move as an excuse to get rid of this POS.

Honestly, I just came back from driving to the store and passed some people on the way who flagged me down on my way back with all of thier tongues on the floor in awe of my car. I have loved cars for all of my 43 years and been in and driven a bunch...........the new Mustangs are, in my opinion, dollar for dollar, the nicest car in the world! If you have not been in a new one other than your test drive, let me assure you your order will please you in ways you never thought an American car could and in the ways you knew they could as well. I may be a bit biased.......uh yeah because I ####### love my car!

You know what, I love my Mustang GT really!
I don't think that the 2010 Camaro is "the dark side" either, it just another Muscle Car just like the Challenger. All are beautiful cars IMO. I really don't like when people bash any of the other competitors cars out there.
In fact, if the Dodge Challenger was a bit lighter in overall weight and the interior was more refined, I would have bought that car.
I think its a really nice retro modern muscle car.

Ok, back on topic. Yes, sometimes I regret buying the Mustang GT. Not because I have any problems, my car runs perfect.
I regret buying it because of all the mods I would like to do to my car will just about add up to buying a Shelby GT500. Buy the time I spend the money to supercharge the car, add suspension, wheels, tires, shifter, change the front fascia, rear fascia, body stripes, shifter, and much more.....Hmmmm?

I just didn't have the money or the job at the time to justify the cost of the GT500.
Now that my job has changed and I got the money, I think about selling my GT and getting a GT500.
We will see after Im done with my GT and get bored with it, maybe a GT500 will be in the works for me.

No regrets at all. I've had my 2011 GT since October and I still find myself coming up with excuses to just go drive somewhere. My only wish is that I could somehow transform it into a beater whenever I have to leave it in a parking lot...getting real tired of parking it at the far end of the lot (i.e., no cars for 100 yards) only to come back and find a couple of junkers squeezed in tight on either side.

I think what you're going though is a normal human emotion (second guessing), once you get the car and you drive it for awhile and the comments start coming in, all that will be out of the window.

There is a lot of nice cars on the market now and the choice is tuff, but just hang on, pretty soon you will riding around in that new Mustang and pulling off the road to get out and "fart" cause you don't want to mess up the new car smell Patience Grasshopper!

With my last purchase of my 2012 pony package Race Red car, the only regret I have is that it is so pretty that I am scared to leave it anywhere for fear of having it damaged.People look at it and say "wow". It is definately eye candy. Sometimes wish I would have bought another beater because I am well aware of how thougthless and careless most people are. Have to learn to cope with it though, because it is my dd and I have to drive it. You either chose to try and enjoy what you like, or go without and have more regrets.

No regrets here we love them all.

Some days I think about whether buying the V6 was the right decision compared to a GT but that is just me wanting more as usual. Never owned a 6 in my life so still getting used to it.

My best advice is be sure you want what you buy. Think about the long term commitment, changes that you see down the road and how the car you chose will play a role in your life. Project yourself 3 years out .. will your choice still fit?

Edit - I thought about all of that crap I just said .. buy the Mustang .. don't fart in if for a while, park away from the crowd and get ready for 100's of compliments. Buy a detailing kit, spend $$ on upgrades and mods till your either broke or permanently living in the doghouse!! We all deal with it daily and enjoy every minute of it

2008 Shelby GT500 Torch Red / Black - FRP Stingers, Factory Nav, Ambient lighting, HID, Leather Upgrade Package, Seq Tail Lights, Etc..

2011 V6 MCA Edition Ingot Silver / Stone (1 of 6) - Traded

2011 5.0 Grabber Blue GT/CS (1 of 18) - Hers - Auto, Shaker 1000, HID, Comfort and Secuity

well sort of, sometime..

I have driven full size pickups for some years and just wanted a "muscle car" again.. the first one I drove was the one I'd been eyeing for a year or so... Chevrolet Camaro. it felt cramped, low ceiling, the sun roof seemed like it was in the back seat, the windshield and side windows seemed like slits and it drove fine.. but you could feel every pebble in the road.. sort of rough.

I drove the V6 and V8 Mustangs and they felt larger inside, smoother and overall a little more comfortable.. (I might have been just adapting back to a "muscle car" from a large cabin floating on air ride of my pick ups though.)

I decided on the Premium Automatic Mustang but wasn't sure on color, or V6 vs V8.. I chose the V6 because it ran really well and the thought of better gas mileage won out. (after I bought my Mustang discovered you could feel every pebble in the road on it too)

sometime I regret,
1. not getting the 5.OL. (because of the V8 rumble mainly, and the grille)

2. not looking or at least giving the convertable a look see.

3. not sticking with my original color choice (Ingot Silver), although I love the Grabber Blue..

4. not going back and driving the Camaro one more time before I bought the Mustang to eliminate all doubt.. (old Camaro fan, I've owned a 69 Z28, 72 Z28, 78 Z28, 82 Z28, 02 SS, and currently own a 67 SS)

5. buying my Mustang at Rockwall Ford, Rockwall Texas because of all of the crap that I went through after the purchase that I found out wasn't exactly the truth..

the last one is my biggest regret by far, my car has loosened up a bit and either I'm getting used to it or it rides better and smoother than it did when I brought it home.. it even seems to run even stronger now and the last tank of gas averaged just under 26 MPG in aound town driving.. I still love the Grabber Blue and intend on keeping the Mustang for a long time to come.

so, only minor regrets.. but we all have those ..right?

Lovin My Stang

I LOVE getting an average of five compliments PER DAY on it !
I LOVE the car.
but I think I should have got the GT, more for the grill, the sound, and when talking about it with my Corvette friends and such.
My saddle interior on the Performance White with the Pony upgraded wheels was a great move !
I just received a donut spare today from Ebay after owning the car two weeks, and WHY do I have choices of light colors for my door sill and cup holder, but NO glove box light?
I originally just bought it since it was one of the few verts thay could hold my golf bag.
Now I am an ENTHUSIAST, with STANG caps, jacket, shirts, and I bring IT to cruise ins instead of say my 1931 Ford Cabriolet like in the avitar. :shiny:

I like the Mustang a lot but sometimes I see something and think I should have got this instead. Like the car in the pic.
I just don't want to wind up like a friend of mine he owns 15 Mustangs, and that's' not owned, he currently owns 15 Mustangs plus other cars/trucks/motorcycles.
I am at my limit

No regrets on buying the V6 6MT at all. But I do "regret" sticking w/ the shyster dealership I ordered from and not driving other 'stangs to really tell if there were any differences in shifting. Mine shifts pretty well overall. "Clicky" when pushing it and butter smooth when babying it. I think it's fine but w/ all the talk about the tranny issues, it's always in the back of your mind that there's gonna be an issue.

So far, this thing is the balls! Looks amazing and is fun as hell. Tons of compliments too!

2012 Kona Blue V6 6MT Pony package. 2.73 rear end, comfort package, Charcoal leather interior.

Driving it since 5/09/2011

Add ons: Ford Mustang STB, Epco Rally stripe shifter ball, AFE non-oiled Air filter, Airaid mid pipe, GT500 Splash Guards.
