Had to 'reboot' sync ... OMG who engineered the fuse box location?!?
Preface: I'm used to working on overly complicated but over-engineered German cars.
My ipod was stuck in the indexing-loop-of-death and a quick google seemed to indicate that a sync 'reboot' was in order. Okay, no problem, what's the button combo on the head unit to accomplish this task oh wise google? Oh there is none, you have to pull a fuse or pull the battery cable. Huh? Really? That's the best you got?
Where's the fuse box? It's located in the passenger kick panel. Only, to access it you have to pull a fussy trim panel, lift some weird piece of paper with velcro attached to it, lift another piece of paper with tape holding it to the fuse box cover.
Okay. Fine. ****** half-ass design, but fine.
WTF! How in the hell are you supposed to get your head down in the passenger foot well, turn it to look up and get your arms up there? And to top it all off, it's upside down and they couldn't be bothered to put a fuse puller in the panel cover.
Wow. This is the absolute worst design I've ever seen. There's more than enough room that it could've been mounted under the glove box by the firewall.
Previous german cars, twist a knob half turn, remove panel locate plastic fuse puller clipped to the back of panel and look at the convenient diagram pasted on the back of the cover. 30sec tops.
Time to pull fuse for sync: 20min plus lots of sweating and swearing.
Okay, rant over. But being a microsoft product, I'm sure I'll need to pull this fuse at least three more times in the next year.
