Thumping noise when driving?
I know diagnosing a problem is near impossible via forums, but I just wanted to check if anyone has had this problem with their 11-12 mustangs before taking it in to get it looked at.
While driving I hear a subtle thumping sound coming from the driver side of the vehicle, possibly towards the front. When taking a curve to the left, the sound is amplified 10x, the thumping noise is much more audible, my best guess is it's 2 "thumps" every second. It only gets louder when taking a gradual curve to the left and more so on deceleration while taking a curve to the left. I don't know how else to describe it other than a "thump." It's not a metal on metal sound, like a clank.
Also, at the same time there's been a sporadic metal on metal clank sound that sporadically occurs during turns or reversing. I have yet to be able to consistently replicate the sound and it randomly occurs.
I'll be taking it in on Monday to get it checked out but has anyone experienced this with their 11-12 mustang? I haven't done any suspension work to the car and the sounds just started happening out of the blue. The car is rarely driven, ocassionaly on weekends, and there hasn't been an incident that could have caused any problems with the car- one day it just started making the noise. Any feedback would be appreciated.
