Oil Filter : Motorcraft vs NAPA Gold

Noticed something strange this weekend when I was changing my oil. Picked up the NAPA Gold 7502 filter as I wanted to support the local parts store for a change. When I went to install, I noticed its slimmer than the Motorcraft filter that was on from the dealer. I know that the NAPA filter is a high quality Wix part, but I have to wonder if the smaller diameter filter is up to the 10K interval that the Motorcraft is rated for.

I have changed my oil twice using the NAPA Gold filter and no problems on my end.
