2010 Mustang GT vs 2011 Mustang V6

2010 Mustang GT vs. 2011 Mustang V6 - YouTube

Everyone on here debates which is better. As you can see the GT still edges it out.

If money was a factor I'd go for a used 2010 GT over a current V6. It's still quicker, a v8, more mods ect. You could even throw on a sc later on.

Just don't get it I see people spending near 30k for premium 2011 plus v6s when they can pick up a lightly used 2010 GT thats faster, looks better and cheaper. Plus you can get a Tremec if you want. Plus the sweet sound of the 4.6

Thanks for sharing. I had pondered the outcome myself. I'm a fan of the V8 personally. That 3.7 is damn impressive for a V6 though.

If I had to choose between a 2010 GT or a 2011 V6 I'd have to give it some serious thought. That's a tough one both are sweet cars!

I agree, for a 6. Even the Camaro is impressive for a 6.

When you factor in a used 2010 Premium and a 3.7 premium it's a lot cheaper to get a 2010 v8 and have money to mod. Not to mention the better looking wheels and such.

Id take a 5.0 base model though if I had to over both of them.

There is a member on here, his name is "Rorysbrown", who got a fully loaded v6 with NAV.

He then spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on mods for said v6...

Here is his mods list:

Ford Racing: Recaro Seats, V6 Handling Pack, Control Arms, Air Filter, Floor Mats, Adjustable Panhard Rod, 3.73 Axle Gear, Al Diff Cover, Brembo Brake Pkg. Roush: Trunk Toolkit. Borla: Cat Back Touring Exhaust. Barton: Shifter. Ford: Boss 302 Shift knob & boot, Front Grille, C/S Front Valance and Rear Diffuser. Misc: 3.7L Badges. Flip Down Front License Plate. SCT Tuner. SHR Fuel Door. 19" AMR Wheels

Not only could he have gotten a new, loaded GT, he could have had a Shelby.

To each their own I guess, if your reading this Rory, I hope you are enjoying your car. In reality its none of our business who does what, but it just hurts me to see something like this happen...

I think SoloBuster has almost 100,000 $ and counting in his V6.
I think hes up to 550HP and is going for 700-800hp.
And its more than just power that his car has going for him.
Hes got a nice loooong thread on his progress with pictures in here.

Honestly, it dont matter these days. Its easy to boost power in less and less piston engines with out them blowing up. Even F1 is thinking of standardizing to a v4 turbo engine. Yes, I do miss the v12 days but thats progress. . . gotta move on.

Correction, they are switching to a 1.6L V6 turbo in 2014.
They are still playing with the idea of v4 turbo.

If that is the v6 with the 2.73 gears and fully loaded that's very impressive. The 2.73 geared v6 is a absolute dog compared to the 3.31. My base v6 with 3.31 gears would beat a 2010 gt in that case. I have never had the chance to race any, only older 05-09 ones and I smashed on those.

I'd go with a new V6 Premium over a used 10 GT.

Wow. True. He could have bought a 2013 Shelby if he wanted. Plus he will have a very hard time selling that v6 with all the mods let alone trading it in.

There is a boy on another Mustang site his parents bought him a 2011 v6 that cost around 50 grand! Really it was just some appearance mods and some Boss 302 decals put on it! I recall he stated his parents gave him the option of a Camaro SS or Challenger SRT! People laugh about it.

Why didn't he just buy a ZR1 and call it a day! 800hp? By the time he spends that kind of money he could buy an exotic.

Why dont you ask him, he comes on here alot or dig up his thread.
He has a vary unique and vary good looking mustang.
Zr1 isnt vary exotic or unique eaither unless you are a vett fan and can tell the diffrence.

Edit add: He might already be up to 700HP.

I was saying or an exotic.

ZR1 is a pretty rare car and you don't see very many being driven. The dealers don't even carry many.

Even the newer z06s you don't see a ton of them.

I'd rather have the bragging rights of having a Zr1.

Also it would be interesting how you would insure a heavily modded Stang like that because not only liability but I mean incase it's stolen or totaled. It wouldn't be cheap.

A zr1 would be a ton to insure too, but if you have over 100k to throw around in a car you can afford the insurance.

Also with the 2011 v6 and the sh*t load of mods things are going to wear faster and break and you won't have a warranty for it.

Some of us dont care to brag.
We want something to play with not tool around town with lol.
Some would rather have something unique than have something stamped out for them.

over used but:
each their own. . .

edit add: hahaha
I think solo already broke the motor at around 650 hp and has a full forged v6 now i think lol.
