Even if it's got the same old Coyote under the hood? Would you trade the 2011 GT if it was only the body change, IRS and maybe 100 pounds less weight?

Is the "same old Coyote" really a bad thing? I don't know about you, but I love this engine.

A coyote with zero miles on it in a 200lb lighter body with IRS,
sounds really good to me.

Aren't they trying to get it down to like 2800 pounds?

Sent from a Samsung Galaxy far, far away..

Don't get me wrong, it's a great engine and I love it unconditionally, what I mean is I wouldn't trade a Coyote-powered GT for a same Coyote-powered, different body and some different mechanic parts newer GT.

With forged internals / Roadrunner, or DI and a handful more horses (or both!), then yes.

KonaBlu11GT 03-10-2013 10:24 PM

It's pretty clear that the coyote will get some upgrades with the new model. It was designed with the ability to add DI down the road so 15 seems like the perfect time to put that in no? The rumors are it will have about 450 HP, Ford isn't dumb, they know that the fanbase will want more power and since this is the 50 year anniversary I'd expect them to pull out all the stops.

Jalopnik first reported that a source was saying that the eco-boost engine was not going to be in US vehicles. Now they are saying that it will in the US. The word is that the eco-boost will put out more HP than the 3.7 and be positioned as lower weight, hot car for track racing.

Yea right, keep dreaming. I'd be shocked if they get it below 3300lbs

Oh yes because a light, nimble, and powerful car is so Anti-American!

Ford, we will not stand for this crap! We want a heavy freight train with a damn LRA!
