GT500's installed

Just received my GT500 axle backs today and installed them in the parking lot. Wow sounds amazing. The youtube video clips just doesnt really do it justice. No drone great rumble all around great sound. Well worth it. Was not very hard to install with a jack and jack stands and basic hand tools.

Awesome! I agree on the videos not doing them justice. So much better in perosn. Now pick up some borla over-axle pipes, or pay your local muffler shop ~$80 or so to remove those pesky resonators! No drone, just more throaty rumble. Worth every penny.

Wow. Seriously? Another GT500 A/B thread? Isn't this like 400 in the last 3 months?
Glad you like them OP but it gets a little redundant.

Glad you like them. I've had mine on for over a year and still love them. I couldn't imagine putting on another muffler since I DD my car. And now that the weather is finally warm in the Northeast, I'm taking the car out just so I can hear the exhaust note with the windows done. It hasn't been a severe winter by me, but it has been long and cold!

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who had no problems with the install using simple tools. I didn't remove any suspension or other exhaust pieces, though I did use a jack and I undid the exhaust at a couple of the hanger points. With a little penetrating lube you can wiggle the exhausts on perfectly. It's a hideously easy install.

If you're in the philly area and need some help installing a set of GT500s, let me know.

All i had to do was unbolt the clamps on mufflers slide it off from the hangers. Oh and take off the two bolts for the pan hard bar brace and swing it down for the driver side. If i remember correctly all i needed was a 1/2 inch socket and a 5/8th or 15 mm socket that was it.

Whatevs man. You wouldn't have to do a search to find a thread. Just go back a page and jump on any of the 3 or 4 "I love my GT500's" threads there and post in it.
I'm glad you like them. They sound pretty good for the money and I considered getting them. I'm glad I didn't settle though and got what I wanted.

you know what's ruining this forum quicker than new threads about GT500 axle backs?

Thread police. They'll eat a forum alive quicker than termites in a log cabin.

Silver - the fastest color.

2013 Mustang GT P 6M: Second Generation MT-82, Barton shifter and bracket, Catch can, MMD hood struts, Blendmount, Bama 93R. Next up - Headers and off-road X pipe, axle backs.

Replica: $400? No. I'm good. Stock one is fine. It throttles and bodies just fine.

I didnt settle either. Many factors came into play with my decision from being here in Germany as one, and not wanting to deal with drone anymore which on the last 3 trucks i have owned i dealt with and got tired of, to the raspy sound a lot of the other ones produce that im not looking for. To each their own. In the end its your car and this is my car and thats what makes them different we all have our own plans and routes to go to get the desired vision we have in our heads how our mustang should be.

I didn't mean to infer that you settled for them. Like I said, they sound good and are probably the best bang for your buck. I just knew what I wanted and almost got those instead.

Let me translate:
"I dismiss your opinion entirely. You're an idiot for thinking you have to search. You're an even bigger idiot for not reading this forum so much that you know the contents of threads 3-4 pages back. I don't care if you like them. They sound mediocre and they're cheap, and although I considered buying them, I rejected them because they are inferior. Ultimately, I purchased a set superior to those that you chose - because, admit it, whatever I like is better than whatever you like."

Glad you like them, and thanks for posting. Many of us enjoy more than one thread about a given modification: the different experiences and perspectives are interesting.

No problem any time! For anyone who is on the fence on whether to get them or not I say go for it. If you arent looking for race car loud wake up the dead then these are what you want. It turns heads has a nice deep low grumble sounds great inside the car and can still hold a normal conversation.
