2011 Mustang V6 Strut Tower Brace

I want to put a strut tower brace on my wife's new 2011 V6 Mustang, and I understand that the V6 convertibles come with one standard. What I'd like to know is, is this the same strut tower brace that was available through FRPP for the 2010 V8 Mustang? It sure looks the same, but I don't want to order one if it's not going to fit.

VR3Z16A200A Is part number you need. Check with your Ford service Dept. May be on back order.

If you are looking at part number M20201-S197 in the 2010 Ford Racing Parts catalogue (indicated for the 2010 Mustang GT), and if that picture is correct, that is not the strut tower brace on my 2011 Mustang V6 Convertible. The one in the 2011 V6 Convertible looks like a solid shaped bar of aluminum, but I suspect it is a formed rectangular shaped hollow beam.

Yes, the convertable comes with one.

I've already gone through all this.

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...t-ordered.html

The strut brace I received when I ordered through the dealership was the GT strut brace. When I tried to put it on my V6, it doesn't have enough clearance for the height of the engine.

You can try the part # Arnold mentioned above. I believe the part I ordered was the exact same, except it was a B not a V. BR3Z-16A200-A

BR3Z-16A200-A does not fit the 2011 V6 Ford Mustang. Even thought FordParts.com clearly shows it does... I don't know what their problem is.

I didn't think this was going to be this difficult! This is the strut brace I'm talking about. It is on MMR's 2011 V6 test mule for their new intake system.

And it looks just like this one for the 2010 Mustang GT!

This is a picture of the tower strut brace in the 2011 Mustang V6 convertible. The part number on the strut is Ford 176AE12010L .

Thanks guys! I'm pretty sure that the new V6 brace is actually last years GT version. And I can get a better price on it from Ninosport than I can from Ford.

98BlackGT....

I think you're onto something there.

Keep in mind, when I ordered the part above that I told you, I received the one in the picture.

So the Strut Brace for the 2011 GT is different, and they have it marked the same between the V6 and the 5.0.

I think I'm going to place my order tomorrow for the 2010 GT Strut Brace. I hope the P/N is different!

Oh!

If you want the cover that's under the strut brace in the 2011 V6 picture, it appears someone on another Forum may have found it. But never confirmed.

"Called Ford today I got the part number for Brace, may be back ordered though but it is VR3Z16A200A I'm told and was ordered $160.93 have not found Pelhum cover yet!
UPDATE found the Part # for the Cover that is under the Strut bar that comes on Performance package and I ordered be here 3 days BR3Z6A949C , Aprox $160.00"

Finding a strut-tower brace that fits 2011s.... - Page 2 - MustangForums.com

I'm going to place an order here, looks to be 130 with shipping.

If i remember correctly, for the plenum cover, i thought i read somewhere that you can only order the cover only if your V6 came with the performance package and only if you lost it or something, like you gotta give them your vin to prove it came with the car unless they wont give you one.

2011 Mustang V6. Auto, rear spoiler, anti theft.

Next mods: Axleback and CAI w/ tune

You're absolutely right. I went down and inquired about it and they said it was not avail for order. The part # i referenced in my last post in this thread is incorrect, it's for the 5.0.

Anyways, Ford said I needed to provide my VIN like you said. This being because they would need to pull the plenum cover from the production line.

Perhaps it will be available down the road, but looks like you gotta buy the car with one, to have one. Unless you can find someone that doesn't want it for some reason.
