2012 Mustang V6 Driveline Vibration when letting off gas

I have a 2012 grabber blue v6 mustang with the performance package, and it is certainly a great car. I have several minor complaints with it though. The minor one is that the v6 doesn't have good low end torque but the main problem I have is that, when I let off of the gas, whether cruising or accelerating, there is a vibration through the driveline that I can feel when I grip the stick and feel through the body of the car. I'm currently away at college and will be home in several weeks, so I was going to bring it into my local dealership to have it checked out. The only thing I can think of is that there is possibly a balancing problem with my engine? What do you all think? I've never had a V6 before, my first car was a 65 with a 289HiPo V8, but I have heard that v6 engines are less balanced than an 8 or 4 cylinder because of their geometry, but I don't think something like that could contribute to as great as a vibration as I am feeling. What are y'alls opinions?

Ford made a bad call and put a two piece flywheel in there.

It has a resonance around 2500 RPM.

Your dealer can't do anything about it because ford calls it normal operation.

You just have to shift or give it some gas to avoid the problem.

It is completely "normal" for it to do that. I have a manual and i can make it do it all the time. Between 2500-3000 RPM if you let off the gas it will vibrate like crazy.

Got the same basic car as yours..While maybe not 2012 V8 torgue..IMO It starts to pull as early as 2k is waking up nicely at three grand five hour energy at four and a 6 pack of red bull by 5 grand..I avoid any deceleraration nonsense (from the dual mass flywheel) in the neutral gate cost mode..Good luck with yours..I ve had GREAT luck with mine..Watch them State ys on Rte 1..!! Okay, that sounds like the problem that I am having, but may I ask, why does a two piece flywheel cause this to happen?

viabration v6 2012

Hello i just bought a new mustang also, v6 kona blue.. beautful car, but since i picked it up from the dealer it had a viabration with only 2 kms on it when i got it??? Was it tested??? It looks like it came off the assembly line on the truck to the dealer, then off at the dealer and then to me??? I guess no test drive?? I think Ford knows about the problem, just don't know how to fix it yet????Viabration will wear and things will start to break????Where do we go from here????

Hello fhonaizer,

I recommend you bring your vehicle in to your Ford dealer as soon as possible to have these concerns diagnosed. Then if you need further assistance, you should contact Ford of Canada at 1-800-565-3673.

For what it's worth, I have a similar issue, it started after I money shifted from the top of 2nd to 3... wait, no, first. Overspun the engine I believe. No issues and nothing nasty in the oil, but I started to get a vibration when letting off the gas around this rev range in the lower gears usually.

1989 Mustang GT: 5.0, 5spd --- Gone, but never to be forgotten. SVO brakes, 331ci engine, Off road X pipe, MM suspension bits.

2012 Mustang: V6, PP, 6spd MT --- Bone stock daily driver and D Stock autocross car. Track days? We shall see.

Hmmm..... VERY interesting.

I have a V6 w/Auto that STOPS vibrating when I let off the gas. Looks like a separate thread is in order for my car's issue.

All you guys with manual transmissions just need to never let off the gas, then you won't get the vibration...
