Turtle Wax Ice + 2013 Mustang = Awakened Monster.
Prior to storing my one month old Mustang for the winter, I washed it, then used some detailer to clean up the water spots, and then used TW Ice to put a quick coat of wax on it. Total time was under 2 hours. I HATE washing and waxing, so this is the perfect regimen for me.
Anyhow, after seeing how easy it was to use TW Ice, I tried some on my truck tailgate. My truck is 13 years old, has been washed about 5 times ever, and NEVER waxed. I was amazed at how good the tailgate looked.
So, Yesterday, I took it to a carwash, and then did the whole truck with the Turtle Wax, and it looks good. It brought back the metalic finish quite well, and it looks like pictures I've seen of Kona Blue Mustangs that have that purple look in the sun, but dark blue at night or on cloudy days.
When I was a youger man in my 20's, I spent hours and hours detailing my car in an effort to impress dumb young women. The older I got, the less I cared about my car, and haven't washed or waxed a car in over a decade. Now, with the new Mustang, and seeing my truck shiny, that inner demon of car detailing is rearing it's ugly head. I must resist it....lol.
So, here's a question: Do you think a cleaner used with an orbital buffer would bring back the clear coat on my truck, or is it too far gone after 13 years of neglect? I know that nobody can give a definitive answer, but what is your gut feeling, or past experience?
