Default 325s in back? Input please!

325/30/19s on 11-inch Forgestar F-14s with +55mm offset and Eibach Pro-kit springs (1.5 inch drop in the rear) --will it fit on the rear of my car without rubbing? Anybody tried or seen anybody try this?

Just the top few hits on Google. Please search a bit more.

Largest rear tire - MustangForums.com
Whats the widest 19 inch tire you can run on our GT? - The Mustang Source - Ford Mustang Forums
What is the widest tire you can throw on the back on a 13 GT? - SVTPerformance
Widest tire on rear? - SVTPerformance

You can also search for Digital Synapse. He had 325 tires mounted on 20x11 wheels.

I'm currently running 295s on 19x11 on my Forgestar CF10s.

What brand tire are you thinking of? For instance, Nittos run about one width narrower. So Nitto 315s are closer to other brands 305s.

Beyond 315s the tire will probably bulge out from under your fender and will probably need some type of modification. There are a few guys running 315s on 19s and 20s in various brands with no problems though.

I'd actually looked at some of those threads, including Digital Synapse, but in his case, what I picked up (from what I'd read) was that he had 325s in back UNTIL he put F-14s on (at which point he went to 305s), and the others had a lot of speculation and few facts. I'll go through the ones I hadn't already looked at, though, to see if anything more factual emerges.

Remember, some of us search, find nothing really useful and THEN pose the question.

And I'm looking at Michelin Pilot Super Sports specifically.

OK -- credit where credit's due! Grimace, the last article you posted a link to I hadn't seen before (all others I had) and it had the following feedback form Digital Synapse that pretty much encompasses what I was looking to find out:

"Long story short, it depends on the available space in the wheel well and how that space is used depends on wheel/tire dimensions and offset/placement INSIDE the wheel well.

The maximum amount of rubber that fits in the wheel well is a Michelin PS2 335/30/20, or any other tire with these dimensions per manufacturers specs. Given the variations in suspension travel and ride height, its safe to say that the car cant be lowered any more than one inch in the rear, and your offset has to be spot on perfect with no more than 2mm room for error, and the wheel should be 11.75-12" for OPTIMUM fitment. The bumpstop brackets needs to be shaved off, because the wheel is literally mm's away from the wheel well, shock boots should be left alone for warranty purposes, and the bumpstop itself needs to be relocated inwards, and lastly a Watts link of any kind is needed, unless you're stock height, then a adj PHB is ok. A coilover system can be used to adjust height and compression damping to limit travel. In ANY case under wheel compresssion/distension on opposite sites like climbing a driveway it will rub on the inside wheel well, so caution is needed.

If your offset is too aggressive, or your car is lowered too much (like mine) then your placement in the wheel well changes and play room for travel decreases, and the amount of rubber you can stick in there diminishes."

I decided to change my rear rims from a +40 offset 20 x 10 to a +25 offset with 20 x 10.5 TSW Nurburgring and it sticks out the wheel well a little and gives the car a crazy aggresive staggered look

Wow! And that's on a tire diameter of 28.7"!! Pro-kits theoretically drop the rear by an additional 1/2" compared to Steeda Sports, but the 325/30/19 tire is only 26.7" ... I'm thinking I'm gonna give this a try.

I may go with Invo's the first time though, based on consistent feedback that they run a little skinnier than other tires ...

Looks like you ended up going with the super sports by your signature. How's the ride/ figment with your set up? I have 19x9.5 front and 19x10 rear F14's on order and plan on putting 255/40 super sports up front an 295/30 on the rear.

Pics???

I've got the 295/35 20 Invos, and I don't care or them all that much. I'm running them at 25 lbs, and still can't get enough grip.
The wide grooves in the middle don't help any...

I too am looking at the Pilot super sports, and was hoping that 325/35/20s would fit.

How tight are you 315's?

I'm lowered 1" with the Ford Racing shocks/struts/springs.

I think this is as wide as I would go.

A 325 on an 11 inch wide wheel MIGHT work but I have a feeling that's pushing it. What's your offset?

Sorry! I missed this when you first posted this. Here's what happened -- at the end of June, Michelin released a new size in their Pilot Super Sport line: 295/35/19, a size that previously you could only get in the BFG KDW line of tires. That size is key for 19" wheels, as the height of this tire is 27.1", a direct match for the factory tire height -- I didn't want to go with the BFGs because of how noisy they are (they perform well, but based on personal past experience, they're noisy as hell!)

So, I ordered that size for the rear and I love the setup -- the look is aggressive, the ride is great, and the grip is amazing. They ARE on the pricey side, but I haven't gone "cheap" anywhere on this car to date, and I didn't see why I should start with the only component on the car that actually makes contact with the road I'm driving. :nogrinner

Highly recommended!!

Honestly, I'd just pick up some Mickey Thomson 305/35-19's and call it a day. 305 vs 325 is going to be basically negligible. At 305 is already a 1 foot in diameter. Tire wall is only 4mm taller than a 325/30 and you definitely should be ok in terms of rubbing issues assuming you don't have a half a dozen gold bricks laying in your trunk for some reason...
