I hate posts like this lol but I have exhaust questions
Sorry about making YET another annoying exhaust post BUT I did some "light" research on some exhaust and I want very little if no rasp or pop, just a clean mean exhaust note and from the videos I saw, that can be achieved with the gt500 axlebacks but how loud are they? I have the roush on my '13 sixxer now and that's honestly the perfect amount of loud.
I was also listening to the bassani, they sound deep and very clean sounding as well, any thoughts? I'd rather not spend this much on an axleback either($500+) but you do get what you pay for so I'm willing to budge some.
Any other nice deep sounding axlebacks out there? I've heard the roush on video obviously and it sounds high pitched and raspy unless it's different in person
thanks for the info!
and YES this is for a 5.0 not a v6, ignore my name and signature
Borla S-Type with stock everything else is by far the best sound I have ever heard, zero rasp and almighty American V8 rumble. Add 200% loudness if you add longtubes.
Yes they are expensive. Yes they are absolutely worth it. Buy them once, never worry about your exhaust again.

I second this all damn day. Bassani's are basically the Magnaflow Competition system as far as I'm concerned. They're practically the exact same design. They can drone pretty seriously if you're not running an offroad/high flow cat setup and can be blatty without an X pipe (means more money). Do it right once and be happy.

^^^^^What they said ...you could buy the FRPP sports you will get the same tone and are a tad bit cheaper but not much. S-Types have 4.5" tips and Sports have 4"

I had a god awful experience with the off road mid pipes already and they were too raspy, I highly highly doubt ill do that ever again, maybe h pipes and resonators but no more off road x pipe lol
Borla S are awesome, but if you are like me and don't want to spend that much on mufflers get the GT500s , no rasp or pop and they get louder as you put miles on them. All really comes down to how much money you want to spend. If you want "dumptruck" sound flowmasters, pype bombs, roush w/ resonator delete, and basically anything other than Borla or GT500s. trust me I went through the whole axleback situation last year, wasted soo much money.

I will look into these borlas and see what I find
How are they compared to the gt500s?
Well it's not that they're not good, they're just different. I run Kooks headers, the catted X pipe, and the Magnaflow Competition catback. Believe me, it's INTENSE. But it's just another flavor with a bit of a niche because of how unforgiving they are. The S Types are quiet when you need them to be and roar when you want them to. They are louder and deeper.

I had the bassanis. They had an awesome sound to them but they did drone for me right around 2k rpms. Having an automatic I couldn't drive around it so they had to go.
Got some borla s types and couldnt be happier. They are a step down as far as how loud they are but have a great tone and have no drone at all. Still plenty of loud for me just not as loud as the bassani were. Would recommend them 100%.

GT500's or Borla Touring would be a better fit if you have no cats or high-flow cats due to their quieter nature. If everything else is stock like I said before, there is no substitute for the Borla S-Types.

I don't mind drone at all unless it's like unbearable drone lol
The borla S are the stingers correct? yeah theyre a pretty penny lol but I can see them being worth it for sure.
I was wondering how the gt500s and an off road h pipe with resonators might sound like though, that seems like it would be a good mix of deep and loud but the rasp worrys me, i don't care if it backfires when decelerating really just that with my sixxer every time i rev it it's just POP POP POP POP GUNSHOT POP lol and it got old
I heard the flowmaster outlaws online and they don't sound bad at all, theres almost no rasp, any truth to that statement?
Remember I want the sound to be as loud as my roush right now

Then get the Borla ATAK system. Flowmaster Outlaws drone with No. Damn. Mercy.

GT500's all day, no drone, mellow at low speed driving and sound great when you get on it. All stock pipes except the GT's. Makes a great daily driver.
