I'm a bit of a lurker around here, don't really post much but I have been looking into these boards for a while and comparing the 2012 and 2013 Mustang.
I went to the extent of getting the two Mustangs beside one another to compare the front end changes and the more I look at it, honestly I think I prefer the cleaner, sleeker look of the 2012. I also love how the hood dips down over the fogs and grill.
I like the 2013, I think Ford took the best Mustang ever and made it better. As far as performance, still pretty much the same car. Some cool tweaks on the 2013. I would have liked the track pack additions to the basic brembo 2012 for 2013, but I am good to 2015.
I like the way Ford is explaining the extra 8 hp as being derived from the "Boss 302 engine building experience".

I think Ford made a mistake making all the Mustangs (V6, GT) look alike the Shelby GT500.
I like the GT500 (it's my dream car), but IMO, it should keep it's specific look. Plus I like also the V6/GT 2010/11/12 front and it looks right.
To each its own, but now all Mustangs kinda look alike, which looks strange...
Just my 2 cents...

I work for Mercedes, and for the first few months we had pictures of the new S-Class I would nearly vomit when I looked at it. The taillights were huge and complicated, the sides looked like a Toyota. However when the car was first delivered in steel, it honestly still did not look right. Now after several years, I find them to be some of the more beautiful cars on the road today.
Pictures will never do it justice. Especially just having the convertible and in one color. I will reserve judgement until the car is out.

As soon as I saw the pics of the 2013 I ordered a 2012 while they were still building them. GT Premium Coupe, Race Red, Satin Black OTT Racing Stripe, 400A Charcoal Black Interior, AT, Accessory Package 4 Hood Scoop and Pedestal Spoiler, 18" Polished Aluminum Wheels, and Reverse Sensing System & Security Package. Ordered 11-21-11, built 12-15-11, ETA 1-5-12.
Both of those pics are just terrible and don't do either the 2012 or the 2013 justice.
But I prefer the 2012 front end. The NASCAR bubble front end of the 2013's do not sit right with me. It only looked good on a Shelby with wider tires, a more aggressive stance, etc. But since they are putting that front end on the entire line up, it just looks over done and dramatically "wannabeish." I still like the current GT/CS front fascia the best.
I'm neutral with the rear end.
I am curious about the performance package options and how much price will increase though across the entire model line up.
Oh! And I will be making a trip to the dealer when it's dark out just to see those pony projection side view mirror lamps.
I prefer the Grille of the 2013, however, the lower fascia just ruins it. The 10-12 is sleeker but even with that, I added an Eleanor grille and CDC spoiler. Aftermarket for the 13's is going to be interesting.

Im a big fan of the 2013 tail lights. The front end should be left to the GT500; just doesnt seem "right" on the GT and V6.
The 2010-2012 front end with 2013 tail lights is perfect.
I agree! The GT500 should have that unique muscle look. Also, I prefer the design of the old front of the 2010-2012. The only thing the 2013 has on the outside that I really like are the rear taillights - they are pretty~
