Can anyone recomend a good service department in the Columbos Ohio area. Going to visit the inlaws for the holidays and it looks like it will be time for my first oil change while we will be up there.

I think I remember paw-in-law saying something about kreiger. That name sounds familiar.

Chapman Ford in Marysville. It's a few miles out of town but well worth the drive. Good people. I am very happy with the service department and this was far and away the best sales experience I have ever had on a new car in my life.
They are bunglers when it comes to selling and ordering, but I have to hand it to Keim Ford they always did a very good job with the routine servicing. Never any spilled oil (I hate that smell!) and never a scratch on the rims during tire rotations. Very knowledgeable body shop too.

If you love your dog, get a microchip, they really work! My lost dog was back home in just under 24 hours thanks to the good citizens who called the county and the microchip that told animal control exactly where he lived.
Do NOT under any circumstances go to Ricart! They are dreadful, and should be avoided like the plague. Krieger is only a few miles from my house, and they did my body work after a minor fender-bender and did a good job with it. The only issue I have with them is that they're kind of in the hood, so I was a little worried about leaving my car there. I bought my car at Coughlin Ford out in Johnstown, and they have done all my service work without incident. I'd recommend them highly. If you let us know what ZIP code your in-laws live in we can give you the closest dealer, but really any of them with the exception of Germain and Ricart are pretty good.

Avoid Ricart.
Krieger & Chapman get my vote as well. Good folks @ both places.
I have dealt with all 3 in the past.

Glad you made it up here safe & welcome to Ohio
Westerville is on the east side of Columbus, not too far away from Krieger Ford, 20 min or so. Chapman Ford is about 45min NW from where you are, but a nice drive.

I haven't used Krieger for service but they were pretty snooty with me in the showroom.
Maybe it's because I look a little younger than I am, or because I was wearing shorts and tennis shoes, but I was given the royal brush off at first.
It may have changed by now, but when I was there they had a big raised podium up at the front where the sales manager and salesman look down over the otherwise quite austere showroom. It felt just as creepy as it sounds.
By the time I had convinced Mr. Pompous I was serious about buying a car I was so turned off I knew that wasn't the type of dealership I wanted to do business with.
Also their idea of a really great deal was they could get me whatever I wanted and even if they had to trade for it the car wouldn't cost a penny over sticker.

Welcome to C-bus, glad you made it safely. Krieger Ford is the closest dealership to southern Westerville, and if you're in the northern/western part of Westerville (over by the reservoir) I'd head to Coughlin Ford. Personally I'd go to Coughlin regardless, but Krieger has longer service hours. If you do go out east to Coughlin make sure to leave some time to take a drive further east from Johnstown, as it gets hilly and pretty out between Johnstown and Granville. If you go around lunchtime be sure to try Rt. 62 BBQ in Johnstown. It may not compare to Texas BBQ, but it's the best in Columbus, and the prices are fantastic. It's only about a tenth of a mile further up the road from the dealership, so I always go for an oil change around lunch time!

Scott, Krieger's sales staff treated me similarly. I too look younger, and I think that must be the issue. I stopped by there last weekend with my Dad to look at the new Fusion (he takes delivery on one next month as a company car, but hadn't seen it yet), and we had a salesman in under a minute. When my wife and I went a couple years ago to look at 'Stangs we had to go find someone, and he acted as though me wanting to take a test drive was a nuisance for him. His loss, as I obviously bought a car. However, their service staff was outstanding when they did my body work. Clearly the service manger is better at his job than the sales manager.

Hey yall, thanks for all the good information. I ended up going to Kreiger this morning. They were real nice and had me in and out in about an hour. Probably would have been quicker but I felt obliged to drink some of that good coffee that had just been made, and the fact that i wandered out into the shop cause i wanted to see the bottom of the car. It felt really good to have nearly the whole service department comment on how she looked with the stripes painted on. Thanks yall
