I have my CCW, and commute almost 120 miles a day, some through large metropolitan areas. I have always carried a handgun in the car with me wherever I go, and have had to use (or show) it once during an attempted carjacking of a '92 GT. I've had this car for a month now, and honestly can't determine the best location to mount any type of holster. Has anyone done this? If so, where?
It's important for me that it be at arms length, and not in the back seat pocket or center console. I'm thinking I may have to mount (velcro or otherwise) a holster to the passenger side console, about knee distance.
I can't carry it on my person due to my profession.
Yep, I took a look through the archives and came up with a previous thread (2yrs old: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...y-mustang.html) - that quickly became a convoluted, political mess. I will carry regardless of your argument - I'm only asking for suggestions on mounting locations.
One on my hip, but that is hard to draw from seated with a seatbelt. So I also keep a 9mm in the passenger seatback pocket in a holster, I stuffed that pocket with a few rags so the firearm is always at the perfect angle to grab.
Using the center console is too cumbersome. I would like a mount for the steering column though.

As long as the thread stays on topic it will stay, otherwise it will be moved/deleted. As for myself, I am a former LEO, so I have had my CCW for many years. I just keep my P220 on my left hip in an Uncle Mikes holster & draw with my right hand. Its easier than it sounds. I have not found a vehicle mount that I like, but thats just me.
funny ur asking because in illinois the supreme court just ruled in our favor and we will have concealed carry in 6 months. I was actually thinking about a block 26 in the armrest cubby. What I was planning to do is JB weld a SERPA holster to the side of it so when you open the cubby its ready in a comfortable draw position.
What the heck is that hanging from her mirror? Granny panties or some kinda jock LOL?
Looks like she has one of those round solar shades in the windshield. I thought the same thing at first though.
On topic the Mustang has very little storage. My last vehicle was a 2008 Toyota Tundra which had Tons of storage (no pun intended), I had a hard time parsing down my pile of crap to fit in the mustang. If they ever allow CCW in Maryland I figured keep it attached to me, however I would love to see someone modify the door panel or center console to accept a reasonably sized CCW handgun like a M&P shield.
