Looking to place order for 2014 mustang and haven't liked some of the colors ( Loved the Kona Blue, but that hasn't been around).
Read that Ford was changing to Ruby Red and I loved it, but some friends were not so positive and suggested I go with my second choice, sterling gray. The consensus was that "Ruby red" isn't a color for a guy, but aimed more for the female demographic of the car.
Not that these guys are car experts, but it bothers me because they are usually right on a lot of their opinions, but I love the Ruby red.
what are those guys homophobes or something? A sports car is red...next question

When I picked up my Red Candy (RZ), It was parked right next to a Ruby Red (RR) SHO, And BOTH colors are great Reds. From what I have asked about the difference between the two (as the Ruby Red is a bit Darker) Is that the Red Candy has Pearl mixed into the Midcoat, (To give it that Candy Effect). Also the Red Candy has a Gold Basecoat, and the Ruby Red has a Silver Basecoat......They are BOTH Tri-Coat Specialty (Option) Paints, costing an extra 395.00 Dollars...........And they both are great looking...................Sean

OP, You can Google (The Difference between Red Candy and Ruby Red) and you will see pics of the colors on cars next to each other................Go with the Ruby Red.........JMO, but I'm Jaded!..........PS.....I have had Both Brilliant Silver, and Sterling Gray Metallic, Both nice colors..... But not the same POP as Both the Reds in question........I don't like the Race, or Performance Reds......Just too much of an Orange Hue for my taste................Sean

I'd answer the poll, but the possible answers are too silly.
Really, who cares what other people think about your own car?
I can't imagine people that think that red is not a proper color for a GT.

"I swear to GOD, if you get another Mustang, and it doesn't have a manual, I'm hunting you down and installing one myself!!! I'll be in your driveway, late at night, NASCARing a new tranny into your car. You will get into your car the next morning, and think you're in an episode of the Twilight Zone, looking at a shifter sticking out of your console, and an extra pedal on the left." Me.
Since I know a lot of females driving SGM Mustangs, I do not see the RR being any more girlie than any other color. It is not the car you start with that matters, but where you end up at. A Mustang from the factory should be considered a canvas that you create a masterpiece from.
